I saw that article and I am deeply saddened to find out Williams is departing from Star Wars/star wars scores. He has been a hallmark of pop culture as you would be hard pressed to find someone who does not know the star wars scores.

This is merely an opinion poll, but who would you like to see contribute to the soundtrack of star wars?
>Kevin Kiner
Why?: he did the clone wars scores and has some amazing soundtracks, heres one

>Michael Giacchino
Why? He did rogue one, and did a good job too, and here is his "audition piece".

>Hans Zimmer
Why? He has done many movies, such as batman, some pirates, gladiator. one thing i did not like about him is his gladiator and pirates soundtracks are deadly similar. his batman is remarkable but he relies on what feels like fewer instruments/notes than star wars to create more dramatic effect.
(the audition piece is with james newton howard)

>Howard shore
Why?: He is a very strong candidate in my opinion. He has a great balance of supportive, recognizable themes, while tying in goosebumpy and/or dark tones beautifully. I have attached a hobbit piece, beyond the forest as it is one of his newer scores.

One concern about howard shore tho is his music makes heavy use of vocals and that is not a star wars-esque thing to do in main themes (duel of the fates is very vocal but not a main theme)

>Harry and/or Rupert gregson Williams
Why?: simply beautiful scores. Harry appears to be a smaller composer, having worked on Narnia, but still composed fantastic music. Rupert recently did wonder woman which is exceptional too but interesting- the wonder woman score, imo, is not as pleasant to listen to alone but does an excellent job painting the character in epic but quirky music.

Any other suggestions? Feel free to post!

Shore or Zimmer for me. Pity I can't choose both -_-

i thought of making both an option, and it has happened before that two composers have collaborated on the same, but to my knowledge shore has never done that and i think that with zimmer's current fame, he is probably strongest to go it alone. but ig ill open it up to more than 1 since i don't expect as many ppl to read the thread
