when the ratios are 1:1, defenders already have defensive positions/close spawns to flags while attackers have nothing

i don't know if you have ever heard the term "balance" but clearly the defenders are not balanced with the attackers, which does not allow them to have a chance at winning. with more than 15 people helms deep is cancer, literally no way to get in the fortress because attackers keep rage quitting or giving up, also all the experienced players join the defenders anyways which doesn't help. osgiliath is just mordor getting into the city and eventually running away. it's not an invasion of osgiliath, it's sneaking into a city and hoping gondor doesn't notice you get a flag.

old empire was so much more balanced even with troll. fix it so attackers have number advantage

Yes, that would be fair on some maps. I'm thinking:
Helm's Deep: 4 Defenders:5 Attackers (12:15 for comparison)
Osgiliath: 2 Defenders:3 Attackers (10:15 for comparison)

It's already in the attackers favor and if I'm right having map-specific ratios could be rather hard to do.
Something to keep in mind however, is that will never be completely balanced as players will join and leave all day thus making the team balancing unpredictable each round. Say, you have 6 people on each team. But The Defenders are Really good. So a few of the attackers ragequit and don't come back. Tbh 1:1 ratios worked for a very long time.
 
I reckon there isn't much problem with the way things are now. The only thing I would change is making the spawn for Goblins on Moria Great Halls for the flag before Balin's Tomb closer.

Yeah, back when EW v2 was always like 6 v 6and the classes were generic and there were only like 3 maps. It has changed now, also remember we had team ratios on old EW and how long did that work for? 4 years?

No, if you play helm's deep during the day and it's 12 v 12 and all the tryhards are on, it is phyiscally impossible to capture any flags. Because of the gate/wall/multiple ladders the attackers are forced to split up while the defenders just can stay in one group at the flag. They NEED a number advantage.

Moria is fine as 1:1 actually, but I'm mainly discussing helms/osgiliath. At osgiliath the map is so huge the first spawn on the boats suck, you have to parkour onto main land and all of gondor just camps and spawns right where the flag is while mordor keeps having to run all the way to flags.
If they had the number advantage like the old osgiliath............... Then it would be so much better.
 
They already do, I can't remember the numbers quite yet though...
But the point is, they definitely do have a numbers advantage.
The issue is, when the attackers do badly, they all leave - which creates imbalance. There is nothing to be done about that.
 
Someone changed the ratio to 1:1! I've gone ahead and changed it back to 10:8.
Ten attackers per 8 defenders.
