I was very happy that Tim finally added a tutorial to the server and i wanted to give a few opinions on it without a chat getting spammed.
What i think it´s missing:
Simple explaination of points - I think we all have experienced (atleast on the old server) new players asking how to earn points, a short explaination of the servers currency and how to use it would be helpful.
That also make me think of the classes, when choosing a class in the tutorial there is only one to choose from, Swordsman. Why not use this oppertunity to show off Donor, Point and Vote classes aswell, explaining why they are worth obtaining and what makes them different from the base classes.
Siege weaponry and other plugins - I will never forget trying to get people to stay at the ram on Tirith, i would say teaching players how gates and siege weaponry works is pretty important.
Something i thing the tutorial was very vague at was giving the player a picture of what the game actually is. In the tutorial the whole spawn+play process is:
-Click the blue wool to spawn
-The objective is to capture the enemy flag, stand close to capture it
I would explain how the wool on the wall represent flags and how the wall in reality is a map of the battlefield, tell the players that the whole gameplay is based around sieges, one team attacking a castle or city while the others defend. Explain how capturing a flag changes the playingfield.
In spawn there should also be a wall teaching players the commands of the server, or atleast telling them about /commands, i usually have trouble finding commands on new servers because it´s different wherever i go.
Tim told me ingame that he didn´t want to make the tutorial too long to make sure the players wont get bored which i fully agree with, but atleast make them bash a gate because that is crucial.
Or maybe there is another solution? If players want/need to learn more, you could tell them after the tutorial that there are short courses they can take to learn about other of the servers elements.
Players could do a short siege weapon tutorial amongst others whenever they want in exchange for a small sum of points.
