Unique Donor Idea

I'm a big fan of having donators take a bigger role in commanding forces. My ininital concept for classes like Longbeard and Commander back in the day, wasn't to make a strong donator class, it was to create a class that leads the others. I'm also a big fan of the Lord of the Rings soundtracks and agree that they boost morale.

That said, I think we should not be using the soundtracks for this, because:
1. The resource pack would be a lot bigger and this will cause problems
2. It can become very annoying to repeatedly have soundtracks like this coming up, even if only once a few minutes.
3. I think we need more than just a short sound that temporarily boosts morale.

What I think we need is a way to make people actually listen to some veterans and donators, so that they can actually plan the battle properly. People usually do this to me, but not much with other people around.
The only real way they can recognize a commander right now, is by them having a crown on the defending team.

Perhaps a solution could be giving some ranks a bold name?
 
last night a lot of donors were complaining about a severe lack of donor perks, especially after their favorite classes were nerfed. I do agree donors could use a boost in something, but I do not think bold names are enough. Would joining full teams be really bad to implement? And what about donors perhaps capturing flags or uncapturing flags faster?
 
I think Sage and King should have coloured names and maybe the possibility to talk in a specific colour.

Joining full teams would absolutely destroy balance.
(Re)Capturing flags faster is a very P2W perk, and I'd rather stay away from that.
The problem with those donators is that they expect that they get better stuff than other players just because they pay. While I agree they should get more, it should not necessarily be stronger. People have gotten too used to the P2W system we had on Empire War v1.
 
Perhaps randomly select a donator from each team to lead (and have the bold rank or whatever else) - if you wanted you could have the chance of being selected based on how much money you have donated.

If there is no donator on a team then a non-donator could be selected at random instead?
 
Well some donators aren't good players, I hope you see what I mean. Others can possibly complain about that, or not.

Better have a /voteleader or something like that instead. People vote for their leader and voila ;p

I agree that Sage/King needs more perks. Some of my thoughts:

A rough approximation of current rank colours (hard in Enjin :(, especially with square brackets):

{Veteran} Tobberz

Then for the higher ranks you could have small variation:

A vote? Lmao what vote have we ever had on EW that's honest and fair and that's actually worked?

This would be extremely messy in the already messy chat. Different colours everywhere = confusion.

Teleporting should be prevented as much as possible. People appearing out of nowhere just looks weird and can easily be abused to escape battle, or save yourself by requesting a rally. People should listen to their leaders and follow order, they shouldn't be forced to and/or teleported.

Bold text would be a lot worse.

Edit: Also, in my view the chat is hard to read right now because there isn't team colour separation. That helped a lot on the old server, but right now when the chat is going fast, it can be hard to tell who is saying what because everyone who isn't a donor has the same name.
 
I totaly agree witg Tobberz, the colours were very organising and helped me alot understand the chat, I feel like the chat now is very unorganised and it confuses me due to the fact I don't know where to look sometimes 'cause everything looks kinda the same.
 
maybe have different but similar color hues.. go back to making gondor names blue and mordor red and that may help it look less messy?
 
Catapult support, allow sage/king rank donors to all catapult support if it fits the map.
Killstreak related perks that effect the team reather than the player.
How about horns, players will get horns and once he blow them things will start to happen.
(the horns will be either avalible to sage+ rank or will be very expensive/have using limit to non sage+. Or sage+ will have slightly better horns)
Lets say a player killed 5 players and got 15 assists, he then get the option to use the horn of {team name here} that will have diffrant option such as: causing effect to the defending team, causing effect to the attack team, changing the map or move players.
Lets take fo example a horn of toughness (im bad with names). The player will blow the horn than one of the next option will happen.
1. The player and all of his teammates in radios of 10 blocks gets resis 1 for 10 sec along with slowness 1.
2. Only the player will get resis and slowness 1 for 10 sec.
3. All of the defender team will get resis and slowness (too op in my opinion).
4. All of his teammates in radios of 10 blocks get resis and slowness for 10 sec but he get slowness 2 or for longer than 10 sec.
5. All of his teammates in radios of 5 blocks get resis 1 and the player itself get slowness (everyone beside him gets a buff and he gets a nerf).

*classes that are currently better than regular classes and ranged units will not be able to use horns (archers, harad archers, rangers, trolls, harad archers, vale archers, hammerers, mages, elf scouts if they are still a thing and crossbow).
*the horns will have diffrent levels and each level will increase the buff but also the nerf.
*the horns will add a new class to the fight, lets say mordor player with the rank of king will get the option to use the horn of harad of he killed over 20 players and got 10 assists.
*perhaps diffrent classes will be able to use diffrent horns
allow players to name their weapons and change the death massages to fit them
 
the weapon naming thing is really good
the horn is too hard to code imo and we have seen various team support abilities but honestly if none of those were added I don't feel horn will

I just don't think itll happen
 
I agree with idea 4, custom death/kill messages and named weapons would be a nice EULA complaint perk :D
Also idea 3 is good. It means that a good player can help out their team by simply being good at PvP, rather than going out the way to sacrifice their K/D (or stats).
