Here is a pretty small post about the some disagreements involving the term "Veteran." It is often misunderstood for many reasons, often times that not being a "vet" means your a noob or something.

Veterans are no specific group, but older players and more social ones are often considered veterans. If you look the term veterans, it says "veteran who has had long experiences." This means that older more experienced players are considered veterans, which is natural.

Veterans aren't specifically mature or important, just players with more experience then some others. Most people take it offensive when not considered a veteran by a person, which they believe classifies them as a noob. The word veteran shouldn't be offensive, and it doesn't really matter as well. Just dont have on the people considered veterans for having longer experiences then you, its immature and will cause problems.

They aren't some elite rank and all the others are just noobs, not at all, some have even been the most childish of all.

Just don't hate on them, or veterans hate on the newer players. Both ways will only cause issues, not solve them. Just don't call veterans names, and veterans not call newer players names as well, since its not cool and sparks problems.

I have years of experience and I'm still shit at melee... :/

I'm also glad someone has finally decided to make a post about the exact def of "vet", it really needed to happen! Good job Python! :)

Thanks, I decided that making a post that would stop hate on both sides (veterans and newer players) would help bond them and stop this misunderstanding.

Tibbles should make a veteran tag for the forums... like if you've been on the server for more than 6 months, or have more than 500 posts on the forums... and then he can limit that area, so that the vets can talk about their favourite noobs.

Am I still considered a noob? just wondoring

Again, not being a veteran DOESNT mean your a noob. Veteran just means you have more experiences then other players, so it doesn't refect your overall maturity and skill level. Some veterans have proven that they can be the most childish. And yes, you ARENT noobs.

I personally don't think you're a veteran if you just joined and left or joined and said like nothing at all.

That's like being that guy at the party who spends his entire time in a corner being anti-social and afterwards saying that it was an awesome party and saying that he did a lot of stuff.

Since Veteran isn't an official title (and not one I'd want to add) it's kind of a hard thing to say about.
There's people who after 2 weeks of doing stuff with me feel like Vets to me (BCx7, for example) but there's also people who after two years of "attempting to help" are still "noobs".

To be honest I don't think this title should be used at all because of the problems and confusion it can cause (especially with the old Veteran rank still being in some people's mind)
