For this reason they were seen by some to be orcs like the Uruk-hai, but they were definitely of Troll stock. They were improved Trolls, much like the Uruk-hai were improved orcs. The Olog-hai however may have actually been corrupted Trolls and marred to the Dark Powers like the Balrogs, Orcs, and Werewolves were."

I thought there were no Werewolves. Just The Shade Wolf.
Werewolves did exist. Shade Wolf was from BFME 2.
Sauron was the Lord of Werewolves and Vampires. Never really stressed in the trilogy, but it was mentioned a few times in the SiIlmarillion. He even fought in the form of a great wolf, trying to fulfill a prophecy that the greatest wolf who would ever live would slay a certain warrior. Sauron was not the greatest wolf, though, and lost the battle (the greatest wolf had yet to be born). He was given a choice - be slain or give up the tower fortress that he had been occupying. He chose the latter.
