You cannot take as many over the counter pain pills as you want just because it hurts bad. You need to seek medical attention if that is the case. Doctors can prescribe medication that is much more effective at treating serious pain. Taking more than 4,000mg of Tylenol (Acetaminophen) may cause permanent liver damage. Do not combine medications that contain Acetaminophen (for example, Tylenol and NyQuil: Cold & Flu) because they may result in excessive doses of Acetaminophen. Do not ever mix Alcohol and Acetaminophen, doing so will damage the liver. Excessive amounts (more than bottle says) of NSAIDs (non steroidal anti inflammatory) can raise blood pressure, irritate stomach, and cause kidney failure. Do not combine NSAIDs such as Aleve (Naproxen Sodium), Advil (Ibuprofen) or Aspirin. Taking recommended doses of NSAIDs and Acetaminophen (not an NSAID) at the same time is safe. Taking an NSAID while drinking is not recommended but much safer than taking Acetaminophen while drinking. Too many people are unaware of these things and are unknowingly misusing otc medicine. I am not a doctor but will answer questions in the comments.
