(Good day to all ! With my studies and the few free times periods I had I put a long pause to a project of writing I had in place but it'll come back XD
For those who like it here is a little piece to be continued <3 )
Chapter seven: Twin souls
The cave was surprisingly well lightened, and the temperature changed all of sudden from the cold of the mountain to the warm of a good fire.
Small crystals were incrusted into the stones emitting this unnatural light while the heath was coming from nowhere but perhaps magic itself, at the exit of the first corridor we found ourselves in a large area with a sort of circle carved in the ground at the center, a star linking five points of the circles, runes into the lines in an unknown language.
“There it is”, she told me, “Just knock and enter, I’ll be outside when you are done here”.
She left me in front of a heavy wooden door, a raven carved in the steel plate at the top of it. I knocked like she asked me to do and a strong deep voice answered:
“Come in!”
I opened the door quite nervously, my glare falling on a large room with many bookshelves, lockers, desks and strange instruments probably used for medical or alchemical purposes. A person was sitting in front of a large fireplace, staring deeply into the flames and I approached. Before I could open my mouth the unknown figure asked me:
“So you are the one she took back?”
I didn’t know how he could have known of this but feeling he perhaps had the keys of explanations to my new condition I answered quite firmly:
“Aye, the woman in black… is it?”
“Indeed son, she is our matriarch, guide and leader at once. Tell me boy, what name did she chose for you?”
I was quite intrigued, the man sounded warm, like familial, though I never met him, nore did I that’s for sure. I took a few seconds to observe him, his hair and beard were short but tainted of the gray of aging like his skin the time was slowly drying, a long scar separating his two eyes witnessing a fight. What came out of the usual was his eyes, I will always remember those, two light green eyes, as green as a plant but shining under the shadow of his brows, small details in his iris I was certain it was runes of some sorts.
After a few I answered she named called me with the name Daeron, and the man stood up walking in front of me, the weight of the years on his shoulder seeming to have fade he looked strong and determined with a spark of wild energy in the eyes.
“Ah yes, you are like she told me, excellent then, I bet you have thousands of questions you want me to answer but I’ll ask a few to you first if you don’t mind, we have all the time anyways.”
He invited me to take a seat and I nodded to him before doing so and started the conversation.
