I guess the 'one bad apple spoils the whole bunch' thing is true? I've never met a racist who flies this flag before, but they do exist. The majority of southerners were too poor to own slaves, and most slaves weren't overworked. They ate with the family, took care of the kids, and worke the fields togerher

lol, you realize that the south made rich people richer because they could take slaves and poor people poorer because slaves took their jobs.

Please stop, learn your history before you make such bold comments. They openly supported slavery and most who fly the flag wish it to be legalised. Your family were dumb for what they supported. How on earth can you say the supported freedom when slavery was 90% of what they fought for. The flag in modern history is used as a racist pride flag and tbh, I'm surprised that you were clever enough to list what the colours of it were.

I know my history, and it's not what was in your school textbooks. Read any REAL HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS, not some opinionated elementary text book. Sheep.

The rest of the world don't learn about the Americans wars because they were so small and irrelevant. Even the British schools don't learn about the revolution because we didn't even send a quarter of our army. All information we learn is what we look for and in this case I can promise I know more than some 12 year old cousin fucking racist on the Internet. Don't call me a sheep because I can promise you my opinion is the most unbiased you will find. I have come to the conclusion you are a moron myself. I didn't have to follow some dumb flag to get my options, wrong or right.

Oh and there were almost no "REQL HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS" because the majority of all Americans were illiterate at that time, not saying much has changed ever since then but you get my point.

I'd like to thank you for explaining how the Confederate battle flag is not racist and anyone who thinks that it is is, in my opinion, a liberal moron. Keep up the good work.

Oh yea confederates totally didn't have anything to do with slavery. lol

This is a battle flag. Those who fought were too poor to own slaves. So this flag doesn't have anything to do with slavery

You say this was the battle flag, it represents the Confederacy, the Confederacy broke off from the rest of the country b/c of Abraham Lincoln becoming president and ppl wanting to abolish slavery, so the Confederacy and the whole war was based off slavery, and u saying the flag aint connected to slavery and the oppression of blacks and minorities is complete bull
aaronjnc
aaronjnc
also you do realize this was only the flag of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia, it never was the Confederate flag or the main battle flag, it was just one flag for one part of the army, so unless your relatives are from Northern Virginia and happened to fight under Lee, the didnt fight under this flag
craftking178
craftking178
I do know this. I'm not saying it isn't linked to slavery, I'm saying it isn't racist. Lee wasn't racist, he was Lincolns first choice, but he chose to fight for his homeland instead

dude if something relates to slavery that thing is pretty much as racist as it gets. I'm not saying ur racist, but im just saying that this flag was used during a war that was fought over slavery (no matter what anyone says that was the reason) and it was on the side for slavery, so its racist

Alright. I'll use your logic then. The American flag was used during a war against Sadam for oil, so the American flag support theft from others.

This should be re explained :P
