I find party politics in the Netherlands interesting. So many parties - and new ones seem to appear and disappear every year. I think it is because of your voting system - it means that loads of parties can get into parliament, unlike in the UK and US systems, which favours 2 parties over everyone else.
Zoom, if you had read their program you would know they don't want to terminate it. They just want to limit the EU's influence to a mainly economical alliance, which is really good. We as small country have nothing to say in the decisions of the EU, making it so basically the EU decides what we do. We should decide for ourselves. Anyways, just read his political ideas where he actually explains what he wants to change with the EU. He's not gonna start a Nexit.
This system is both good and horrible. It's good because it doesn't limit your vote to two people (who might both be horrible, like last US elections). But it's bad because if you have too many parties in the parlement, you'll never get enough people to agree on big changes, so they don't get much done.
However, I don't agree with all their policies. (For example, wanting a northern-EU coin seperate from the euro). But obviously you can't agree with every point a party makes. Most of it is really good, or at least better than most other parties.
Why? If you ask me, Roos is the biggest idiot. The Netherlands needs the EU, as simple as that. You can't just leave it, and expect to benefit as much as before on economic grounds. We need the EU not only for economic purposes, but also for climate change, mass immigration and most importantly geopolitical issues. It allows to us spread and enforce Western ideals and sustain and expand the Western sphere of influence, all needed to keep the Netherlands at the top of the most developed countries. Roos lacks ambition and vision, he's a whiner and definitely not a capable politician that acts in the interest of the state.
We can still cooperate with the EU with those things, the thing we need to do is reevaluate the terms with the EU. They have far too much influence over us right now. Your opinion about Roos is solely based on his past. He has done really well in debates and interviews, and still has a really good plan for his party. It's a shame he didn't get any seats, but I'd vote for him anytime.
