Well here's my explanation (I sometimes get similar feelings). IDK about you, but I've been playing this game for a little under 7 years now, which is actually a pretty fukin long time to play a game for. I realised recently that for probably about the first 4 years I played it, I actually took intermittent breaks, and went off and played other stuff in my free time. Furthermore, when I did play Minecraft, I was always doing different things... SMP, SSP, Tekkit/Modded Stuff, PvP (on MC-War, and EW), Building... etc. Never staying still. And then I also realised that in the past 2-3 years I've basically just done EW and EQ. That, added to the fact I am busy as fuck with school, means that Minecraft is not the addiction it used to be. Not saying I don't enjoy it though, or that I'm gonna leave EW behind :)

Minecraft is just a shitty game overall. Played this game for like 5-6 years. Only stayed due to friends, but I've gotten busy with much, much more important things.

The college I really want to go to requires so much of your time, it's not even funny.

I think Minecraft has a lot of great value because it lets you do alot of what you would like to be made into a game in term of game modes etc. The game itself is very simple, bland, and really not that interesting when you play it for a while, but the part you love about it is basically making your own game. I believe that is why, once you either start making your own life (when you are done with school) or, in my case, quite literally making your own actual games, you can lose interest in Minecraft and might even ask yourself what you found so great about it in the first place. I for my part am very thankful that the game exists, because it let me live out a lot of great ideas via building and playing projects with my friends.

Not worth it. Get a job at Costco as a stocker, then stay in until you are around 30. By then you will be in management, and will have full paid insurance and you will be a nearly a millionaire when you retire

Not worth it? My man, these are not the 70's or 80's anymore. People who go to college these days are forced to do something either in the IT, or other similar ways. Costco and other enterprises will be devoured in less than 15 years with the upcoming of Bitcoins, other Crypto Currency, and revolution of machinery. ~Zulul Zebulen, the Ugandan Scientist who know da wae
