Empire War v3.2.1
Greetings Empire Warriors. First of all, happy new year 2025 everybody! Last year (2024) was pretty successful, and much was achieved including Player count record of 86 during the Moria Update event (update 3.2.0). Today, I would like to present to you Update 3.2.1, a continuation of our 3.2.x Moria Update series.
The centerpiece of this update are two new gamemodes, Gold Run the Payload, coded by the Founder of Empire War, sjoerdtim. The rest of the development team has also been useful and coded a few features that should not be overshadowed by the new gamemodes.
While the community was able to play these gamemodes during the event last Saturday, on January the 11th, the legacy v2 maps won't be added to the rotation as our Build Team, EpicQuestz, are working on a new Moria Gold map, rethought by @Olex. We are hoping to deliver this map in Update 3.2.2, which we hope will wrap the Moria Update wholly, before moving on to our next Large Themed Update. Speaking of which, make sure to hang on until the end of this update post to find out which themed update will be next
Upcoming Map: Moria Gold | Thorin's Halls (Event) |
Before we begin, we recently opened applications for Resource Pack artists! You can apply here if you would like to help our Resource Pack team with making new textures and improving the Lord of the Rings experience on our server.
We would like to also remind that applications for Media Assistants, who are part of the Media Team, are also open. Click here for more info.

Closing
As mentioned earlier, we are still planning a final Patch for the Moria Update, in the form of Update 3.2.2, which will hopefully include a reworked Moria Gold, not only from an aesthetic perspective but also from gameplay and strategy point of view, and if the Valar are with us, then a second map... Though that last one will not be intrinsically Moria themed.
Once the hype around 3.2.x settles down, the next MAJOR Empire War update will be 3.3, themed around... *Drum roll* THE ROHAN UPDATE. Plans for this one are glorious. In the confirmed map list, we already have Aldburg, a brand new map that has never been featured on Empire War yet; the best looking map of EpicQuestz. Among unique gameplay features, we are looking forward to creating a cavalry system, which should bring a whole new dimension to the entirety of Empire War, including some of our existing maps!
This is as much as we can reveal right now. The expected date for the update is also unknown, but rest assured that it will be done this year, in 2025.
Returning to the short term updates, we are also working on improving the general user experience; a constructor rework is being conducted in real time, and we've already prepared a couple of immersive updates, as well as features that will help new players to understand the game quicker.
