An improved and friendlier relation between two communities

Hello there! :-)

My name is fr15827. I am a staff member from another community, Conwy.


I have already encountered a few members from this community, including the owner sjoerdtim and as I can see it, we have gotten along quite well so far.

In the past, there have been many hostilities and flame wars between the two communities, something I doubt neither of us really appreciate. I am not becoming a part of this community intending to spy on you or steal some of your ideas. I want to try and learn your ways, get to know your community, gather some inspiration from you – and hopefully inspire and improve your community. I think we have a lot to share and learn from each other.

I intend to stay for a while within this community, trying to give you advice and tips on what could be improved if I would notice any flaws. But more importantly, I will try and encourage you to keep up what’s already good here and try as much as possible to be a nice and helpful community member in general.

I wish to settle the tense relation and make the communities friendlier towards each other. Let’s hope that we will see a brighter future. :-)
 
Easier said than done. Last time something like this happened, Mr. Kronos got demoted/banned and then you lads turned on us after RP came to *server that shall not be named*. I can't really trust you people.
 
ive also tried to interact with people from conwy, since some of them are actually old friends.

but it feels like ur saying "im from conwy, im here to advice you and teach you to become a better community"
idk, probably just me. but i agree! Conwy and EW need to forget the past, even tho everything started by trying to be friends... irony
 
I’m not trying to say that I or my community are better than yours. I’m trying to be friendly and helpful to create a nice and win-win situation to improve us both. Don’t you think it would be nice to have a very good relation between the two?
 
It was all very nice, except for "Therefore, I intend to keep an eye on this community, giving you advice on what could be done better where I see flaws,".

Intentionally or not, this implies that we are the problem in the relationship between the two communities. All of us here would be glad if our communities were friendlier to each other, I just suggest being more careful with the wording of your sentences in the future.

I do not want your legions of rather immature people (at times) charging over the Halls of Khazad-Dum, nor do I want your friends attempting to know a good deal about LOTR. There are numerous flaws in your community, many that you do not see yourself.

Seems like your trying to change this one's "Flaws" 350% more then you want to change "The Other Server's" Flaws

I agree... and Titan was one of the only few people I ever knew and respected
 
I Think we can try this out, ik that there is some hate about this, but couldnt we just ignore our past and start a new future together?

And I do actually agree with the other people that you should change how you said that you would give tips to flaws in our Community which makes it sound as if our Community has alot of flaws (well, we got some flaws, but doesnt every Community have flaws, including Conwy?).

But my suggestion is, lets have Another "ambassador" from here that can give tips to flaws in Conwy's Community, like how fr15827 is giving tips to our community, someone should do that to the Conwy community. I am not suggesting who should be this "ambassador", but if anyone feel interested, answer here.
And Before we are starting to inform this, Tim should have seen this.
 
anyways, we have said what we wanted to say, atleast i wont thow shit or anything anymore, since he is not trying to ruin anything and he was just tryina say something to bring us back together (even tho it was a bad choice o words). im afraid this could be hard, alot of members here are permanently banned on conwy (including me) and is not really big fans of the server

anyways, i dont want him and conwy to feel like we will forever be their "enemies" and we want nothing to do with them. i feel like Ageofiron has brought some players from both communities closer which is fantasic.

I apologise if I may have written my post in such a way that it could have been misinterpreted and I sounded like some form of braggart. That is not at all what I tried to achieve with this. When I said that I wanted to point out the flaws of this community, I referred to constructive criticism. No community is without flaws – both Conwy and EW got their flaws. I’m not saying that this community necessarily got more flaws than my own, but if I noticed any flaws here, wouldn’t it be nice if I could share my own experiences and improve your community even further?

Again, I’m just trying to be polite and friendly towards you, prove that not all members from Conwy hate you, and in the end make the two communities look upon each other as friends rather than foes. Let’s not bring up old, negative things too much, but instead focus on the future and what’s positive.


To prevent the main post from being further misinterpreted, I’ll try and edit the parts you pointed out, to make them sound the way I wanted them to and less provocative towards you.
 
If my presence is disturbing you, I can leave if that would be for the best? I do not intend to aggravate any of EW’s community members.

mistrust is a basic thing on this server.
But if nobody else does this, I welcome you to the server and hope you wil enjoy it.
I dont think you will steal ideas and if you intend to, you would not create this thread in the first place.

I've already talked about the stuff between communities long ago and there haven't been problems for months. I don't see why you're bringing this up again. I've got no hatred for Conwy and don't think we should go into the stuff with it again. People can play both here and there without problems, and as long as they don't advertise they'll always be welcome.
