Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down, and I'd like to take a minute just sit right there. I'll tell you how I became a mod of a server called Empirewar.
My story on here is quite an extensive one, dating back to the end of the RP server and the start of siege.
Several older players swear they remember me joining in the defense of Cair Andros, or fleeing the waves of zombies on horseback as defenses fell through the ugly castle. Though I may have been there, my time was nowhere as extensive as my current friends from the server believe. I was a complete noob to minecraft, didn't type a damn thing, and sure as hell didn't survive any form of mob siege. Hell, I doubt I could even craft a sword. The same was the case as RP fell, and Siege began.
At the beginning of siege, I finally learned how to swing a sword, though was terrible at PvP. I was simply amazed that Lord of the Rings could be brought to life in such a way, and so I stuck around. Over time I began to adapt towards the situation. I learned to move while fighting, the teachings of a bow, and that normal soldier is not my best class. Soon I became one hell of a Pvper, and made many epic tales. I remember all the old classes, all the old players who everyone loves (despite not even knowing them. They weren't that amazing, it's not cool to act like a vet). I remember holding Minas Tirith third gate as a spearman with strength boost, Andrew at my side, as we completely destroyed every person that dared come up. I earned sharp shoot records, along with amazing kill streaks, and after awhile finally donated for Lord.
Slowly players began to take long breaks. Several Mods made short appearances in Diamond armor, wielding flame whips and riding overpowered horses, spawning zombies at their enemy team as they were targetted. I remember one time Sauronius came back to Pelennor fields as Mordor, taking leadership of the Orcs as Sauron, the only one to ride a horse to fight us Rohirrim. Over and over our team fell to the horde of Orcs that surrounded him, until finally my bow brought him down, and my head was put in the harbor for my achievement...
Back on track. Players began to take long breaks, and then disappear. This is about the time my PvP skills began to drop, and I had to bond with new players. I don't have much to share here, until the announcement of Mod openings was made. People began to make polls of possible candidates, and do you guys want to know the way on there?
1. Be nice and funny.
2. Choose something you're addicted to for no reason. Anything noticeable, like cats. I don't even like cats.
3. Be around for awhile.
To be honest, I didn't even know I was mod the day it was announced. I was wrapped up with Osgiliath, until the point Slime came on all happy, and I was like "Really tho?? How did I not get it?" Then Tim asked for my Skype and I finally looked at the staff post.
As a Mod my time became extremely annoying. Several players decided to be sticks in the butt just because, and slowly I became the only active Mod. I'm not proud to say this, no, I'm just saying that there was a time I was alone, and it was annoying. By the time we got Pre-Mods I was tired of it, and slowly my time on the server began to diminish. That was my fault, sorry about it.
And now we're here. It was fun. See you on Epic, where I hope things will be laxed.
