archers to fix

As you surely know, archers have a worse armor than swordmen, that's beacause they have to stay far from them throwing arrows. Unlucky happens that a swordman can't get close to an archer because of his rate of fire that in my opinion is too high, and in a 1v1 the archer wins the duel most of the time. So why should i play as a swordman if i can play with a bow and make a lot of kills without risks? archers rate of fire should be reduced. :dizzy:
 
Don't charge an archer straight on unless there is cover. Use your higher melee damage and armor to your advantage. Also keep your food bar full so you get op regen. Or, try to get behind the archer. You could also play swordsman to kill trolls or other good melee classes. Make sure to not spam click because of 1.9, and then you should be fine. Vote for sharpness too if you want extra damage.
 
Just want to point out that solider can 2 shot an archer (orc soldier) and arrows take 5 shots vs soldier excluding moria where archers have power 3. Also there are counters to archer such as mage, shieldmen and spearmen (to an extend). What needs to happen is that archers need to be capped at power II and are unable to go above it.
 
Yeah
1) Windlance is too op with new archer.
2) Archers seem to be able to spam.
3) Often archers have an axe, but not always... I think this should be replaced with a sword.

Windlance should be op though. it's a windlance. Maybe make it only usable by a certain class or something?

And I agree that all archer/swordsman classes should get swords.

Well I agree with the dmg it causes, but not its reload. The speed it reloads at is insane...

Perhaps somehow make the reload based on the windlance itself, as opposed to the player - as well as making it slower. Or just one or the other.

You can hold the bow in the left hand (and right click to draw back the bow) and keep a melee weapon in the right hand. That way if someone comes up you can melee *melee does cooldown* and shoot bow after hitting them and then repeat/run away. When you are actually shooting the bow your weapon lowers, but it still says in your hand.
 
I'm just tired of archers somehow using both a sword and bow at once. It's rather frustrating having your 25 killstreak as an orc being stopped by an archer that spams you to death with a bow and sword out.

So soldiers have to use complex tactics to kill archers, but archers just have to mindlessly bow spam at close range to kill soldiers? Seems fair.
 
At a bare minimum, they shouldn't be able to use a bow and sword at the same time. Whether or not they should be nerfed beyond that still needs to be decided, but we should focus on balancing what 1.9 unbalanced.

Well, you could add Dwarven Engineer to Moria Great Halls and only allow that class to use the windlass. That could be a problem, because there is already another voter class (Shieldman.)

Meh, shieldman should just be changed to free.

Nothing is wrong with it because its already happened on Dale.
