Firstly, an apology on my behalf. The rules, when they mention "modified clients", do not specifically mention macros. That's our fault, but it's assumed that common sense would infer "modified clients" also refer to the use of macros (e.g: double clicking).
Secondly, here is the note about using clients outside PvP from the Moderator Decrees thread:
5: Do not use modified clients in the lobbies.
- The rule about no modified clients fully applies here too.
- It is down to the staff to what extent any punishment will be given, as it is not as serious as hacking in-game.
- It is possible that warnings will be given in this case.
We have had significant issues in the past with people "demonstrating" their clients or macros to other players, and so we have very strict rules on this you might consider completely unfair. But Drew is completely correct that even just showing off an unfair advantage is just as against the rules as using it in PvP.
Thirdly, the point which Drew made that in the first video posted here, you do very briefly click at that one time in a way which sounds like a two double-clicks. Perhaps not enough evidence as it is, but the fact that you
were using this mouse, then admitted it, makes your situation a little worse. I make a practice of not overruling the decisions of Moderators or Pre-Moderators, but really your first ban should have been reduced to a month rather than thrown out completely in the first place, considering your use of a macro mouse.
This has added to that, and convinced me to go back to your previous ban. So you'll be banned for a month, then unbanned. Unfair or not, we have to enforce the rules uniformly.
To everyone else: yes, even if you are well known, demonstrating clients or macros in our out of PvP will get you banned.
