Donaters and leaders

I'm finding it increasingly frustrating seeing people that donated claim stuff like 'I am your leader'. I mean it's fun to roleplay sometimes
but When you donate this does not make you the leader of your team. It is not up to you to tell them what to do because your 'in charge'. It's great to try and get your team to attack as a team or something, but donaters aren't leaders, they're just normal players.
One of the main reasons donaters think this is because of the unite text : 'Half the Goblins were united by their leader <playername>- edit it please?
This is happening more and more on the server, like the incident with ender_shark1

this is annoying as all heck. Being a donator, too, I just sorta sit there and others are like "I AM YOUR %!@* LEADER, NOW GO!!! DO THIS, DO THAT!!!" and roll my eyes. It's pathetic. We gave money to Tim to congratulate, support, and help him, we aren't leaders in any way, and I'm not sure if all donators realize that.

Like.. who?

Also, I just ignore those people.
They were on lms a few times and siege for about 40 mins. But on lms they lead the team to victory ever time.

I agree ben, but I don't think any of them seriously believe they are the leader. They just say it to role-play or as a joke. You don't have to listen.
Sometimes they do give good advice though. I usually listen, don't always follow.
You don't need to listen to anything I tell you to do though, for the record

Yes, this is a stupid problem because your average donor thinks he is above everyone else because he made a donation and got a "title," which is just a piece of colorful coding if you ask me. However, some donors should get this privilege because they have earned the title of leader over time from being on the server for so long and making their name as a pvper. For example, people like Perry and I are well remembered for all the times we have been on the server, and people proclaim us to be their leaders rather than us just saying we are leaders. Leadership is earned, not bought.
yea imagine that akam posts on this and says he has been around very long so should be a leader and no one else should because there noobs or close to that

All of you guys are taking this way to seriously, it's a game get over it if someone is being just really really annoying then report him

Report him for what?

I believe ''Roleplaying'' isn't a bannable offence.

Exactly
If they earned the respect of the people, many people are given titles (think sjoerdtim, etc) and people will flock to them
I don't think this is really a problem...

I have no problem with roleplaying, but when noobs that donated having only played for literally a day or so and then announce themselvs as 'the new leader of gondor'. akam, i take your point, but disagree that people should have titles of 'team leader' or whatever. if somebody like anrza, who i know he knows what hes talking about tells his team to do something i will happilly listen, but ive never seen anrza say 'I AM YOUR LEADER NOW ATTACK THE 3RD GATE'

ben, you're missing the point
NO ONE ACTUALLY LISTENS TO THE PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T RESPECT THEM
plus, YOU HAVE TO ATTACK THE THIRD GATE ANYWAYS!

No, I don't think your getting the point. You see, there is something called an example. I used attacking the third gate as an example.
And your first point was just backing up my first point...

No, I'm saying there's no need to make this sort of action illegal, since the people who don't deserve it aren't getting listened to anyhow!
Donators ARE team leaders... That's why they have commander classes and can unite the armies..

So you're admitting that your server is not only pay-to-win, but also pay-to-rule? Interesting.

No, mean jokes aside, you know that it can't possible work that way. Most times some donor gives orders, it's pretty lame and obvious, or stupid. And when someone tells you "be constructor and repair the gate" (which pretty much equals "go lose points and have your /kd drop down to 0"), and that someone keeps playing commander, doing none of the hard work himself... well, let me put it this way: You don't like to take orders from someone that doesn't even follow his own orders. If he really was that smart, wouldn't he be repairing the gate himself?

So therefore, most donors giving orders are ignored. And there are extremists who don't take it all too well, and starts using his powers to sabotage the team's work.

I agree with most of that but a lot of donors do "go repair the gate themselves" and they are asking for help because they cant hold the gate by them selves while the rest of the team stands on the wall and looks at them as they get shot down losing lives

what if you didn't get to choose your class? unless you were a donater and could only choose commander or got a random class?
wait md is going to put up a good argument and say that's a bad idea since he cant be archer :P

The donator shouldn't just rush in then.
