Favorite Tolkien moment?

What is your favorite moment in any of Tolkien's works, and why?

My personal favorite is in TRotK, during the battle of the pellenor fields, when the Rohirrim arrive to Gondor's aid. They know that they ride to their dooms, but yet, still have courage. They acknowledge, and yet, embrace their demise. Their charge was a key part in the victory of the Free Peoples in that battle, and that is why it's my favorite part in his works.

Plus, in the movie, the music that goes with it is astounding.

When Gandalv presents the hobbits to Beorn. That was so good, and then the sucking movie just flew right past it.

If you're stating about the books, I have always loved the "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that was given to us." quote and I think that's my favorite part.

If you're stating about what I liked about the writer himself, less so. I love the books he wrote but his son (Christopher Tolkien) have continued being a huge pain in the ass to any movie makers. The reason there'll never be a Silmarillion movie is that Christopher wants everything in the movies exactly like the books, and since that's impossible and they didn't do that for LOTR and the Hobbit, he won't sell the rights.
I don't know much about JRR Tolkien himself, but I do not like his son in any way for what he's done.

Silmarilion can't be a movie unless you make it with many many episodes. :P
