Hey,

So recently, as you may have known, our *favorite* server has gone down. Now we can persevere and fix it, but it seems as if tibbles is in sort of a slum. He stated "I don't know if I want to keep fixing other people's mistakes". He is really pissed, and doesn't want to do empire war anymore, and doesn't see hope. This thread is just mainly to inspire him, show him the awesome community and server he built, so we will never fall apart.

this is nothing compared to 2-3 months after the eula.
sjoerdtim is eventually going to grow out of owning a server and want to move on in life, its not a big deal.
in my minecraft experience I have seen it happen to lots of servers. the owner starts up a server and it is very fun for 2-4 years. then it starts decaying for a couple years. and eventually the owner goes to college or gets a job and is busy with irl stuff. and just does not have time to manage a server anymore and it closes without much word from the owner.

once there was a server called coolcubed that closed a long long time ago(2 years, almost 3) and there was a player named Andrewcramer who joined. and here is how. now Andrew had never played multiplayer before because he did not know how to get a server IP. but one day Andrewcramers irl friend gave him an ip to a server. Andrew, always wanting to play multiplayer but being to nooby to find ips used this ip his best friend gave him to log on to this survival server called coolcubed. and Andrew loved it so much he bought the highest rank donator package that had /kit diamond for 2000 in-game currency. (which was very cheap for diamond armor) anyways. Andrewcramer then spent all his spare time mining diamonds on this server (I calculated it once, and I mined over 3000 diamond blocks on this server.). there were also minigames on the server that Andrew started rekting people at (this was my first pvp experience). anyways after a few years of cow farming and getting the best everything in game. Andrew got board and made new friends in the new world called "the end" that Andrew never knew existed until someone he knew on the server told him to /warp end. killing ender dragons (ender dragon spawned daily) with his friends in diamond armor.
but then one day the server went offline. and went back up a few weeks later. the owner apologized because he just started college and forgot to pay for the server. then everything was going just fine other than the owners never logged on. eventually a few months later the server went offline for a couple months again. Andrewcramer was starting to wonder what was happening. he had just finished his replica of moria that took 300 hours of game play to mine out. then one day his irl friend who had gotten staff on the server told him that the owner was not replying to any of there messages on the forums. Andrewcramer not having any grammar skills and not knowing how enjin forums worked never went on the forums did not know what was going on and was tired of single player.
so he then decided to figure out how to get ips! and you never would have guessed what he found! he found EW siege server (while RP was going on, I so wish I could have known it was there and played it.) and a lot of other servers! he played constructor for a few hours and then went on a hunt to find more ips and more fun servers. he found a few of EW's competition servers and played on them for a few hours. but their maps were to confusing and he always got lost and never knew what was going on. Andrewcramer then heard from his irl friend that the owner just did not have time for coolcubed anymore and had to deal with irl stuff like college. Andrewcramer then kept searching for servers and found noobplex and played on minigames there till it got boring and he was tiered of rekting noobs. and then went back to EW and only played there till he had lots of new friends like arak when he firsted joined(I saw the "Welcome arak to empirewar" message and welcomed him. arak and dhuv(who is now a king) were his spear man buddies. and cool_col that had just joined a week after Andrew had really started playing on EW. then a little over 2 and a half years later here I am now

I wanted to tell my story on the server, as well as the servers story.
This was the first server I ever played properly on minecraft, apart from 1 or 2 hunger games servers which were really bad. So I got minecraft in May 2012 and my friend told me to look on planet minecraft to find a server. I found this Call of Duty related MCInfected server, little did I know that I would be on this server from that moment until it's last (literally). The server was amazing, literally everything about it. The maps, the coding, the classes. Everything. At that time it had about 50 average on it, having s1.mcinfected.net (don't worry these ip's have been long down) s2.mcinfected up to 5, but only 1 and 2 were usually populated. The gamemode was a spinoff of Infected from MW3, but with maps from all COD's and other stuff.

I was a noob at first and died a lot, not really knowing anyone and coming on every week or so for a bit. I kept playing and got to Prestige 2 (Quite a good rank) by about December 2012, when there was this giant update with a load new classes and everyone went hype, trying to unlock everything, but this was just getting good :). ASFJerome and BajanCanadian did videos on this server, many that I am in. As well as SkyDoesMinecraft and other youtubers with them. There was a giant VonoxNL phase and the owner got completely dedicated to the server. He added a load new stuff, everyone was happy and I even had a conversation with ASFJerome (about 5 min conversation where we talked about youtube in general and I just told him I loved his vids). At this time I got really good at pvp, getting super op killstreaks and got to Prestige 4, I was about 60th on the leaderboard at this time out of 200,000 people who had joined the server. But then I got banned for 'aimbot' which was fake as I had never hacked on the server, but I was banned for a week after appeal as the mod was convinced I hacked. After this a load of people hated me because they thought I had hacked, and I stopped playing for a bit. In March 2013 I came back to see a load new gamemodes, not only was there McInfected but there was someone called MCQuicksand (Basically Block Run) and McSkullHunted, if you want to know what that is then check BajanCanadians/ASFJeromes channel :).

This was a great time for the server, there was around 600 people on it average and 12 separate Infected servers (It was the main gamemode and always will be <3). I started using the forums around this time and interacted with the community a lot more, the constant updates making me want to play it more and more. Then it took a turn for the worst, the youtuber hype was over and most of the people who came from Sky and Bajan left, only Jerome still did active videos on the server and most people from his channel who wanted to check it out had already done. Not much really happened in the rest of the year, the owner was at college and busy studying, although he came on from time to time to add new maps and stuff. At Christmas 2013 a new update happened and everyone went hype, but what was supposed to be a 2 week updated turned in 3 weeks, then a month...then 2 months, people were getting bored of the update and wanted to original stuff back, as the snow and constant darkness on the maps was really annoying. I was really playing on this server a lot now, got to the first page of the leaderboard which was a big deal, but me and a few of the other active guys were looking for ways to make it more fun. We found something which turned into the biggest glitch exploition ever on the server (not that we knew it wasn't allowed). There was a lot of void maps, and if you hit someone once then they fell in the void you'd get 2 kills from it due to glitches. So what turned into the highest server killstreak from around 50, turned into 400 in a day (with about 10 people having 400 killstreaks). We all got banned for a month which was a bit unfair considering we got told by a mod that it was allowed. But this really didn't help the server as a lot of it's active players got banned. It also made it a lot less fun for me and I decided to stop playing the server all together then. I checked the forums from time to time to see if there was any updates but never went on the server. Then Halloween came and there was a smallish update which I had to check out, but promised myself I wouldn't come back properly. But I was wrong...I found the enjoyment in the game again and started playing a lot. but with this update like the Christmas update the owner forgot to take it off as he was busy at college and left it on for about 3 months. Everyone thought he had disappeared and the server had died but we were wrong and he posted simply saying that there would be no more updates as he didn't have time.

This was the last stage of the server, a few of the mods turned against the owner and one of them banned everyone on the server, as he thought the owner was just in it for the money and when he stopped getting money he left. There was about 6 months of this and 12 MCInfected servers turned back to 2. As well as McQuickSand and McSkullHunter going down(permanently). Then MCInfected get going off and on, like 10 times, and the Owner was staying quiet. Finally, on the 12th of April, 2014 the server went down permanently (I was on when it crashed for the final time) RIP Super Gaming, you will never be forgotten. Mah story:
There was a d00d called Dhuv who joined EW when he was a n00b. He met BobbyBuckets and he l00ked up to Bobby. He never saw him much for a long time. He met a lot of other people and speared n00bs with spearman class on Tirith with Andrew and Arak. He played it a lot and it became his favorite server. He got King rank for his birthday. He played almost every day even though he wasn't really *cough* allowed to. After a year or so, he didn't play as often. Then the age of EULA came and he left for a long time. He came on a few times. The old ranks were put back. He changed his name to DemPeeps. He lost his King rank. He almost posted a thread for lost rank thinking it was EULA, but he came on and saw that everything was changed back to the old ranks and posted a thread for changed name and lost rank. He is back now.
 
I'm going to write a MAH STORY because this thread seems as if this is the opposite of inspiring tibbles.... after school
 
Woah! No one said I was quitting Empire War.
I was just sick of all the host problems, but now that that's solved there should be no reason to despair.
I like the imput though, thanks :)
