Currently the constructor meta is to bank all your wood and use prebuilds, or leave your team to prepare the next flag in freebuild mode in relative safety. It is rather hard to do much in freebuild mode once the battle is upon you, because you risk loosing all your wood and you can't deposit only some of it. It makes patching holes in fortifications very expensive and takes away from the creativity of v2 constructor where every constructor had their own style and tricks.
Assuming we want to keep the limited wood supply, which I'm not against. Let us constructors retrieve some wood from the team storage by shift right clicking restock blocks or some other way, so we get some of our freedom back.
The idea I have currently is to let the constructor retrieve one block by shift right clicking a cauldron up to some limit like 12 to prevent team griefing. This would allow the constructor to retrieve exactly how much they need without making it too op as it takes time to get a lot out.
An upgrade to this mechanic to prevent carpal tunnel and stuff would be to keep restocking wood with some small time delay up to the limit until the player lifts the finger. Kinda like a character repeats itself until you lift a finger from your keyboard.
