Lord of the Rings Roleplay

((Sure, Ark,))
*watches as Joe gets pulled away by watchmen*
*turns to Dimitri* No one's fool enough to go there by himself, and I wouldn't go there unless I had at least half a dozen armed warriors.
*looks at the guy with paint all over his face* I don't run this place. Ask Butterbur.

"Well, we could get the elf and the farmer to help. Maybe even a hobbit. We also need to see what weapons, armor, and info we can pick up from the locals."

*Elrohim rides into Bree, climbs off of his horse, and enters the Prancing Pony. He then sits at the table where he spots the Archon of Rohan, Dimitri*
"Hello, Milord, I heard that you would be travelling to Bree and I desired very much to meet you. I am a man of the Riddermark, I come from the Westfold. I am a handy bowman on horseback, and can work well with spear and sword, and ask if I may be of your service, Milord? I have fought in your armies before, against the Dunlendings, and have triumphed in many battles within your ranks, so I offer my life to be your personal bodyguard, Milord."

*Also overhears of a quest to Erebor*
"What kind of fool would you be to travel to a destroyed city, where the malevolent dragon, Smaug now dwells? You are basically committing suicide. And that's even if you make it through the Misty Mountains, and under the horrid bows of Mirkwood. You may travel North and around, but it would be 200 miles North of where you started. You are setting your own death trap, good sir!

*Sits down to the table where the Archon sits*

"Archon of the Riddermark, eh? Nice caves you've got down in the Ered Nimrais. Don't bother, I've travelled these lands many time and flatter myself I know more than most about the Downs. And all I need I carry with me. But I do know of two who might help. Rangers from the North, they are. One is called Strider, the other Landuil. Strider is away on business in the south, but Landuil is residing here at the moment. He may be able to give us help."

So, we have, what 3 people? We should recruit the elf, the half elf, the hobbit, and the farmer. Oh, and the ranger. They could be of use. Elrohim and Dwalin, what do you have equipment wise?

"What would you know about Dwarves of old? And I said I wouldn't join some tiny effort. And the fact that you're trying to recruit a Halfling and a farmer doesn't encourage me."

"I was there when the lord of Belegost stabbed the worm of Morgoth. The farmer is a expert shot and the Halfling is good at stealth. If we do not clear the Barrow Downs, then the entire north could fall. Including Erebor."

((*wyrm))

The evil that stirs in Tyrn Gorthad menaces only the surrounding area. There are only so many dead buried there, only so many stones. The threat lies in the North, and I'd like to see you take the Red City. What would you know of the Halfling and farmer, son of Eorl ((we don't know each other))? And as for your being there when Azaghal was slain by the Zauneshuguzal baran khalahalzajur, I sneer at your feeble lies. No mortal man was there that day who still lives, and if you expect me to believe that, I would take offense."

"Child of Aule, I am no son of Eorl. I am Dimitri Half-Elf, son of Gondolin and Archon of Rohan. Silence your mouth and help me clear this land."

*glances at Dimitri's ears*
"Since when do the Rohirrim take up Half-Elven as their leaders? Strange times indeed are these, and not merely the complaints of old men and fools who have naught to do but complain. But tell me, master Elf, why should I help you?"
