Did you change your name? Also it's really not hard to get back to level 3, it'll take you like 10 minutes.
same happened to me, no name change, I was lvl 7 or 9, honestly not sure which, I think Id reached the barrow wights area if that helps. Pretty sure it's happened to every1 though, not sure why
