Minecraft 1.9: The Combat Update

So, Mojang released an April Fool's Day snapshot for 1.10 called "the love and hugs update". This update was basically a joke, but a player found a hidden QR code in a patch of snow. This QR code led to an announcement that 1.9 would be "The Combat Update". The snapshot was confirmed to be a joke, but Mojang says the QR code is real. Since Empire War is based around combat, I wonder what this could mean for the future...

Considering most servers don't follow the Eula, and there's no punishment if you don't follow it, then maybe we could stretch the donar perks a bit.
All that stuff aside, I am hoping for new types of weapons in Minecraft.

I've been hoping for more range weapons like the ones that can be found in various mods, such as mage staffs, throwing knives, etc.

I hear from many sources that they are re-doing the Ender Dragon's boss fight to be more like the Xbox version (Which has a better Ender Dragon, that can shoot acid.)

That would be epic, But i think new weapons wouldnt be to good, Like at the most shields, Spears, Crossbows or knifes wouldn't be.

Spears are my favorite weapon.

well first the server would have to completely update to 1.8. and if he doesn't idk how much longer sjoerdtim can keep making it available to newer versions. other servers might take off with the new stuff and make EW look like a dinosaur compared to them.

spears were the first weapon invented besides like throwing a rock or something. how could that not fit in survival ?

Oh Right, If mc was realistic in survival, Spears should be the first weapon to make, And Stone/Iron/Gold/Diamond Swords need anvils to make XD, Not Wooden Swords though. But alot of people who have played from alpha will complain that mc has been ruined, And Complain alot from spears...
