In the Invasion Mod, it is physically impossible to build a base, other than one made out of bedrock (which you can't obtain in survival mode) that is impervious to mob assaults. There are tons of new mobs in that mod that have all sorts of powers. Sky base? No problem; the engineer pigmen will just build ladders up to it.
You know, maybe EW should just make a new subsidiary server, which is actually equipped with the Invasion Mod. Of course, this would mean that every player who wanted to join would also have to install the mod, but for the staff that would be way more plausible than coding up a new server from the ground up.
