Push the Cart

"Revive EpicQuestz!"

Variety like Destroy the Core and gold maps? Push the cart!

The idea is simple: Push a minecart of a line of rails to a certain objective.

One example: Pushing the cart to the Helm's Deep wall. (Transporting a bomb?) With Rohirrim on the wall and uruk's on the plains.

I think it would be sick to play this, it's variety, unique (never seen it in MC), and would attract players.

Please Tim/StealWonders consider this idea.

Cheers,

Ithladohr & the EW plebs

Helms wouldn't work, I don't think. The Orcs on the plains would get annihilated by archers on the wall, with little they can do against them. In fact, this gamemode runs the risk of being very archer-centric.
I'm not sure, and wary :)

It might not have to be a minecart, it could be a multi-block structure like a battering ram, or siege tower. That would make it more realistic. It would gradually "move" (teleport 1 block at a time) as attackers stand near it, unless there are defenders nearby. An example could be pushing a battering ram towards a gate on maps such as Minas Morgul. If it was made of actual blocks, attackers could even hide behind it, making the defenders use classes other than archer.

Two problems though, teleporting blocks constantly could add the lag (which is already a problem for US players) and what if there is only one defender nearby? Then would the entire thing stop moving until that player is dead? Aside from that I like the idea, but it sounds a ton like Galaxy War on Hypixel. Which is effectively the same thing.

You're probably right about the lag, I didn't think of that. A remedy could be to have the structure teleport farther each time, with less frequency. It wouldn't look as smooth, but it might work. As for having only one defender nearby, it should be easy for the entire attacking team to wipe them out quickly. If not, I suppose it could take a certain % of the defending team to stop the structure.

Yeah, the percentage thing would work, but what if a TNT minecart was used? And there were maps designed specifically for that gamemode. Also, give the attacking team constructors so they could build to protect against archers (like on the old Minas Morgul gate).

I think that we can solve the archer problem in a simple way, make less restock chests or make a parkour way for skrimish class (make it so will require speed) so they will be able to move behind the enemy's line and attack the archers.
(It will also increase the votes on the server)

But if people suck at parkour then the defenders could dominate. But less restock chests or maybe like a time limit to how often people can get more arrows would make the archers less spammy.

Maybe we can buff shield man with speed and slowness to give him anti kb in those maps or add a new shield man class with shield as main weapon and slowness and speed as an anti archer class (arrow spam can push you)

Thats's a good idea. That and design the maps so then there are a limited number of slots an archer can fire from.
