Question About GOT

Hello guys, I Never watched GOT(Game Of thrones), But I Recently got interested and wanted to watch it, Especially since alot of people in the EW Community Have joined... But theres alot of problems about watching it for me:

1: "Birds and the Bees" Scenes
I Never actually watched these scenes or any Sex Related scenes in anything, Tim said that in GOT theres usually 1 minute of sex scenes for every 100 mins of the show, But my mother told me he was right, But in the first few episodes there is a bunch... This is not just those scenes tho, I Mean Any Scenes with any private parts showing... It isn't really disturbing for me, But im only 12(Well, 13 in 1 month), Would make me feel like some sort of teenage guy who watchs porn all the time, Even though there is very few, And im not watching for those scenes..

2: Torture Scenes
I Don't Really Mind someone getting there head blown up, Chopped off, Sliced in half, Whatever, But if its slow painful torture... It can be pretty disturbing...

So, Do you think i should watch it at this age?

In my opinion, it doesn't depend on your age, it depends on you as a person. Now, I have never watched GoT, and really, I'm not that interested in it. (Sorry GoT lovers, don't eat me please). Anyway, as I person, I am strange when it comes to sex and torture scenes, with sex scenes and areas showing I am generally okay, with torture scenes, it depends on the type of torture, if there is lot's and lot's of torture, I probably wouldn't watch it. But just a bit of torture is okay with me. (Take the torture scene in James Bond, Casino Royale, I am fine with that, it's not the nicest scene ever, but I can handle it.) Anyway, just how I think, after all, it's up to you.

If you have to ask yourself/others if you should watch that show because of these scenes, you're not ready...
And if you HAVE problems with these scenes, GoT is not the right show for you.
btw, *eats bobbeh*

I watch it for the story line and recently they killed 2 significant parts of the story of which they have been developing for 4 seasons. So its a bit meh to see the story stall. If all the GoT episodes and seasons were out, I wouldn't be disappointed as I wouldn't have to wait a year to find out whats going on.
It's entertaining though.

That sums up season 5 a crappy photocopy. If your parents are okay with it just watch it with them. If you don't really want to just ask to read the books.

So, Do you think i should watch it at this age?
So basically, I can't answer this question as maturity is not a matter of age. I grew up in a traditional scandinavian family, being sent to mud wrestling and sword-fighting camps in my early years made me somewhat numb to brutality/gore in movies or series. Also, I had the maturity of a normal grown-up at the age of 13. Now I don't know you, so I have no idea what you're like, but I don't see the problem in sex scenes. Sex is the beauty of nature, there is nothing that's somewhat disturbing/traumatising about it. I have no idea why people are so distanced about it. However, the brutality can be disgusting to straight-up shocking if you aren't used to that sort of thing, whether you are 12 or 22.
In the end, it's you decision. Game of Thrones is a fantastic series, one of the 2 best I have ever seen. It is realistic,
breath-taking, mysterious and it makes you think about lots of philosophical matters. And it's definitly good to watch with the girls ;)

Wait, Watch it with girls..?

1: "Birds and the Bees" Scenes

About the sex scenes, apart from showing breasts there's barely anything visible, and the dialogue is sometimes VERY important, especially in Littlefinger's brothel, because he says a lot of stuff that's worth hearing there (about backstory, etc), so I'd really advise to still pay attention to them. Of course you can just look away and listen, if you find it very disturbing, but that's really something you should think about yourself.

And yeah, the first 2-3 episodes have as much sex scenes as about the 2 seasons after it, so don't get yourself fooled thinking every episode is like that.

2: Torture Scenes

Well, I watch Game of Thrones myself, with my mother and with my grandmother.
My mother doesn't really care about either and my grandmother not about the sex scenes, but she does about the torture.
She tends to look away during those scenes, and luckily doesn't miss a lot.
Game of Thrones Season 1,2,4,5 doesn't have a lot of torture, 3 has quite a bit.

Dat Viking camp lol. Umm, btw, i dont really believe that sentence "I had the maturity of a normal grown-up at the age of 13" if you see a grown-up as a real grown-up and not 18-year-olds. People see themselves always more mature than they actually are.

Viking camp is awesome :D still go there every year btw
anyways, of course i didn't think like an adult in every case, but from my general social/mental abilities, i haven't changed since then

Like, the "Birds and bees parts" yes, there´s alot in the beginning, but now, in season 5 there was like no scenes like that, they get more and more uncommon over time.

the bloddy parts, yeah there are a few, but it isnt to many scenes thats that bloody.
but for example, at decapitations, you dont see the blood just go everywhere, it mostly goes to another scene like 2 sec after the head got chopped off.

you should deffinetly watch it, its so worth it (since u will catch up with refrences etc afterwards)
