Bump: I am now continuing this project after about 9 months of hiatus. I have been quite busy recently, so I couldn't work on it.
As for what this project is for, it is to detail the RP era of EW (Summer 2013), the era supposedly called the 'golden age'. The intention is to shed more light on this era and clarify matters to encourage enlightened debate instead of flame wars based on unsubstantial claims. Also it is for new players to understand a vital part of EW's history.

Nearly a year bumb, maybe as no one replied again on this thread people don't want to be enlightened? You should have just created your own thread on this if you wanted to continue it.

There is a good reason for this thread. I decided to recontinue this project simply because I have seen a lot of comments about the supposedly 'golden age' of EW RP and people do not know what they are talking about. Also please explain what harm this thread does, or what is wrong with it apart from its age.

Well, I don't know if you're aware but there isn't EW RP any more so this thread is basically pointless.

I am aware that EW RP has closed down 1 year and 9 months ago. I know you have cared to read the date of the thread, so hopefully you will realise that this thread started ages AFTER EW rp closed. Also, as said in the posts above the point of this thread is to let others know more about EW's past, particularly the period which some refer to as the 'golden age' so they can have their own opinions when arguing about this period of EW history and all of the supposed 'vets'. You might not like to read it, you have the right not to.
I don't plan to engage in a flame war, but please read the opinions of others before formulating your own opinions.

Thank you. While the rules say that this thread has a right to be locked (And I agree with the meaning behind the rule, it is to avoid trolling and disruption), the intention of this thread is to tell a story and encourage others to reflect on this period in our history. It is not meant for a single discussion, but rather a series of discussions. The spirit of the rules is more important than the letter. I am also quite disappointed at how the first reaction at this thread was basically 'lock it because it is useless'; while there is basis in this request it reflects how EW players regard their past history. Perhaps this would explain the numerous arguments regarding veteran players and outrageous claims on both sides. (Not targeting anyone, just reflecting the atmosphere of this server at times)
On another note I have significantly expanded the Compendium, and I think it can be done within a week.

Tim is working on Rp server. We will rp in middle earth!Don't tell him I said this. If you build on build server, rp will come sooner
The problem with this is that most of the old players are now gone, and I am not sure whether a new RP server would be a good idea. Ilthilien is the only faction that has a possibility of returning although I doubt it considering that we are firmly entrenched on another server(members may return though).
Personally I might return and found a new empire.

I do remember, and in fact Ilthilien is now at its strongest EVER more than 1 year after the RP server closed. The reason why I made that comment is because a 'hard' RP server is extremely difficult to run unless you have a very established large player base, and it is also quite hard financially as well. What I mean is that most of the people who I actually know can RP have all left, and from the likes of old forum RP I don't think it is a good idea.
If tim wants to start something I suggest an 'soft RP', or 'empires' server. Basically have the map, large kingdoms and empires instead of factions with focus on not only pvp but also other aspects, but don't strictly enforce RP. Have an RP channel and OOC channel. I don't think that the server at its current situation can afford to open two servers, nor would it be a tactical situation IMO (last time the RP server closed quite a few players left, as tim basically allowed huge factions that wanted to play on a stable server to build up and ingrain this idea in people's minds but then denied them the server so they tried to find others).

The compendium is now complete.
It is bad that I read it all? It's quite interesting, especially the demon attacks.
The demon attacks were the most interesting parts. Only did amazing work on that. Most of the demon attacks, like literally 99,9% were against Cair Andros(Blackfyre). At least once we were overrun and all fort levels penetrated. Most of the attacks we fended off as Cair Andros was built to withstand monster attacks.
Then there was Demon's gate, which was the first place where Blackfyre settled. Demons spawned a gate there and overran the entire place, until morning came and all mobs were killed. The place was abandoned.
Anyway, Cair Andros was sometimes visited by Sky Traveler who brought warnings(what a surprise), then there was a huge cave under Cair where there was a Wither and later we had to battle Drunken Assassin. The cave spawned after the RP had been about a week in and several attacks had already happened.
Demons usually left something behind, either a blood crystal, book, or treasure. We also discovered that the Demon Lord wanted something from under Cair Andros which would have made him powerful or something like that.
However, before all of this ended, the server was closed. GG.
At least as much as I understood Only, he told that we(Blackfyre) were the most fun to have demon attacks with cause we didn't complain and to be honest, we actually enjoyed it.
Forlond(Ilthilien) was also attacked once, but Only stopped it cause they started whining(at least that's what he told me).
They didn't get nearly as many mobs as we got, sometimes we got over 1000 mobs. The biggest attack had at least 2000 mobs in total. And just before that, farmer and balanced brought us about a chest of arrows, few waves just used it all up.
Everyday I miss this server more and more ;'(

A few waves. Try one wave before I ran out of arrows. This coming from a lord with people gathering resources almost constantly. Those attacks would have been far more enjoyable had we had more time to re-equip ourselves.
Next time I build the flamethrower traps.
