Voldemort VS Gandalf

Gandalf doesn't have that many spells as far as we know, whereas Voldemort can kill with a mere thought. We've never seen Gandalf use a killing curse, not even during battle - he always used pinecones or his sword.

I would be inclined to lean towards Gandalf just cos i like lotr, but this post has made me think. I don't know :3

Clearly Gandalf, if he dies he'll just come back.
And Gandalf didn't lose his powers to a baby.... this swaying anyone's views?

Love. Not a baby.

I feel like no one here is qualified to make and/or comment on these as I am pretty sure I know more about one of all genres mentioned here and on other similar threads than all of you combined know about all of them.

No offense, just stating a fact.

Except, obviously, lotr, on which many of you are my equal. ;-)

Thank you for stating the fact that your feeling are that way
(didn't know feeling were fact)

Gandalf can't die for being a Maia, Voldemort can't die until you destroy his horcruxes. Luckily, they've already been destroyed by a kid names Harry Potter who got struck by lightning when he was seven, giving him the hammer of Thror (Not Thor) with which he could summon the dragon Smaug to burn all Horcruxes.

Lol Gandalf has a lot =P. Maybe like electric_ice sad this is a lotr server forums people are going to be iased on whom they choose. =P

This is not a matter of who will come back to life first, this is a matter of who will win a duel. Gandalf has no killing curses. He has never used them, and I doubt that in the innumerable amount of extreme circumstances we have seen him in he would no have used a killing curse if it were within his means. It is obviously not a matter of principle (Such as his torturing of Smeagol, see A Hobbit Journey) as he has used swords to kill and has set pine cones alight with clearly no regard as to whether they would kill the wargs or not. Voldemort, on the other hand, has a wide variety of hexes, jinxes, and curses, including stunning spells, disarming spells, killing curses, the Cruciatus Curse, and the Imperious Curse. Gandalf seems to be able to cast light, lock doors, summon fire in minor degrees, speak to animals, and heal minor injuries.
