Time for my annual vacation! But before that, a quick review on Star wars: Battlefront.
Controls: Pretty easy to learn, kinda hard to use. Then again, this was my first PC shooter. Trying to juggle moment, aiming and gear use is difficult.
HUD: Awful. Okay, first off, the minimap is useless. Doesn't show landmarks, doesn't show locations of anything but your allies. You get the tiniest red indicator when fired upon, the health bar only shows if you've taken damage, and it gives you nothing more than a little click sound when your gear is reloaded.
Weapons/specials: Only got to try a few of these. Most of them are good, easy to aim, damage is fine. my only problem is you can snipe with anything. The smart rocket is useless unless aimed at a AT-ST or AT-AT. The shields are amazingly useful. Grenades are freaking annoying.
Gameplay: I enjoyed the 45m I got to play. Multiplayer is amazingly hard, and because of said HUD problems it's really easy to ambush. Rocket packs are the BEST thing I have ever seen in a Shooter besides Mass Effect's powers. Communication is a problem, so fighting is random to say the least. If you DONT have the rocketpack, it's hard to fight at all.
All in all, this is a really good game. Some thigns need to be fixed, added, and I want to see some freaking B-wings and TIE Defenders (Or Overcompensators) But that aside, I like it.
(The Grenades are evil)
