Muscovy Troop Types:
Light Infantry: Conscripted Peasantry (Only conscripted for desperate measures)
Peasantry armed with anything they can find.
Spear Militia:
Nearly the exact same as Conscripted Peasantry except with spears and cheapy mail armour.
Woodsmen
Stronger peasantry skilled with an axe.
Infantry:
Spear Infantry:
Armoured units skilled with a spear, shield and short sword. Bulk of the army.
Sword Infantry:
Armoured units skilled with an arming sword and kite shield. 2nd bulk of the army.
Heavy Infantry:
Berdiche Axemen:
Very heavy units. Heavily armoured with a great axe, circular shield and short sword.
Dismounted Boyar Sons:
(Will get into their gear at mounted Boyar Sons due to them having the exact same equipment except a horse.)
Dismounted Druzhina
(Will get into their equipment when they are mounted.)
Elite Infantry/Special Units:
The Knives of the Prince:
Elite units designed to infiltrate and assassinate the enemy general on the battlefield.
Only available to the Prince's Army. Lightly armoured.
The Many Swords of the Great One:
A group of warrior monks (bit like the Hospitallers) designed to slaughter the enemy vanguard. (3 available per army.) Heavily armoured.
The Last of the Many:
The last of a great unknown tribal nation that dwelt in the northern area of Muscovy.
Equipment is unknown until you meet one face to face before being slaughtered. Lightly to heavily armoured. (Varies per soldier).
Missile Infantry:
Archer Militia:
Weaker archers armed with hunting bows and daggers. Lightly armoured.
Archers:
Normal archers of an army armed with short to longbows (varies per soldier) and arming swords. Mediumly armoured.
Dismounted Dvor:
The most powerful archers of the entire Muscovy army. Armed with a short or longbow, an arming sword, and a circular wooden shield.
Cavalry:
Boyar Sons:
Armed with javelins, an axe, spear, or sword, and a shield, these are some of the best units Muscovy has to offer. Heavily armoured.
Druzhina:
Come from vikings that lived near and in Muscovy. Armed with throwing axes, a small axe and a shield these are fairly good, but not the best units.
Missile Cavalry:
Dvor:
Basically mounted Dvor except instead of longbows they can only use war bows.
Cossack Cavalry:
Lightly armoured, bow and arrow, a shield and sword, lightning quick on horse back you won't see them coming until they've killed 30 men of you're unit.
Kazak Cavalry: Nearly the exact same as Cossack cavalry, except they are armed with a short bow and a very bad sword.
Elite Cavalry:
The Prince's Guard:
Extremely loyal and elite units of the Prince's army. Will die before you even get close to him. Armed with either an axe, sword, or spear, and javelins these are the best cavalry the Muscovy Principality has to offer. Heavily armoured.
