I absolutely hate this. LOTR SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED. It was made PERFRCTLY by P Jackson. If they want to remake something: remake the hobbit. Or even better, do something completely new.

I agree, they better leave LotR alone. A Silmarillion tv series, if adapted by someone clever enough, would be beautiful though.

Rumour has it that they are gonna do 5 seasons. How can they fit 5 seasons into the years between Hobbit and LOTR? I'm apprehensive, I sure hope they have good writers... because they will have to invent almost all of it.
