    As someone who's family is mostly Buddhist, and mostly libertarian, I feel most emotional about this subject. First, the elephant in the room. It's in the Islamic Quran. Quran 9:29: Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture. Fight until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled. Simply, the Jizyah was a religious tax levied in predominantly Muslim countries. Existing in most Muslim countries all the way from Morocco & Andalucia to the Sultanates of the Indonesian & Phillipine Archipelagos(virtually the entire Muslim world.) There were some exceptions, such as the Mali Empire, which had an educated, rich, & powerful class of Muslims but a majority of folk religious population. These tensions were balanced by the rulers, and it was in their best interests to not levy the religious tax. The Jizyah had massive impacts on the political world; it's widely believed to be the number 1 reason that Buddhism was eliminated in India despite its birth there. It also contributed to the elimination of the former Christian and Jewish majorities across the Middle East in the spam of decades, which had existed centuries before Islam's birth. So, not only is taxation theft, and not only is this a religiously instituted government policy, but it's an ethnic cleanser.

    lol I'll keep that in mind. Also it's nice to joke about the lava and all but 1,000+ people in my community have evacuated their homes and am waiting in shelters to see if their homes will be destroyed by the lava.

    I completely acknowledge the wrongs of all kinds of peoples, but I'd rather not always turn to scapegoating those different for the problems I have. Communism has nothing to do with it. Everyone knows that doesn't work. It's quite easy to grasp the concept of people being fundamentally selfish. I just don't like to use that as an excuse for acting like the rest of the mob. By the way, the Aztecs were killed more by smallpox than by other tribes, although the Spaniards were definitely helped by tribes the Aztecs had previously subdued that joined the Spanish either voluntarily or by force. The Aztecs definitely weren't good people, although that doesn't make the crimes of the Spanish any lighter. Everyone knows that at first, African kings were the one who sold the slaves to the Europeans. It was common to keep prisoners of war in Africa, and the Europeans payed in guns and lots of other good things. Armed with guns, the African rulers got into increasingly more wars in order to enslave their enemies and sell them, leading some kings to great wealth, but eventually to the downfall of the entire continent as tribes became scarce and Europeans moved in to personaly find their product. As for the history of Islam, it isn't pretty, but considering the genocides of Muslims in Spain, and the downfall of the Ottoman Empire, I'd say we got even with them.
