1.9-The end of arrow spamming!

Now I know most of you hate 1.9 so far for obvious reasons... But it does add something good! The new cool down time when you swing a sword or something also applies after you fire a shot from a bow-loaded or not! Now there are commands to make this wait longer/shorter. So, if EW does what I hope they do, they'll make it longer. Regardless, this prevents arrow Spamming! Go now, and celebrate in any way you find good.
 
1.9 is awesome in my opinion. Attack cooldowns can be used to create different kinds of weapons with different speeds and damages. Trolls could be made to have a slower attack rate, while an Elven class or something like that could have a quicker attack speed.

Maybe, they should've created ACTUAL new weapons? Seriously tho, I am not happy with a combat update without new weapons.
 
I don't really know if 1.9 is good or bad (I haven't played the snapshots), but all I do know is that Tim is going to have one hell of a time updating the server.

Well, supposedly 1.9 is gonna be easier on server owners and mods than 1.8 was. However, I do agree that it's gonna be a real pain rebalancing Empire War after it's updated. Archers will still be OP, Trolls will be nerfed, swrodsmen will be buffed while normal Orcs nerfed, Bonebreakers and Gundas are gonna be buffed, and did I mention archers will still be OP?

No, Trolls wont be, They will have a longer cooldown, but will probably do MUCH More damage every hit
Because ANYONE Can edit the attack speeds for any weapons, Tim will most likely make swords and scimitars have the same speed and attack

Even tho i feel like Wings shouldnt be added they are really cool and i think it will be positive for mini-games etc.
Shields are fcking bs, get them outta vanilla mc, to me they can stay in mods...
Cooldowns: in some ways i see why they did it, but i hate them so much, there should be a way to disable them.

Cooldowns can be changed through coding right? They could just be set to whatever 1.8 has them at so that there's basically no change, right?

The new shields will be add a new variety of ways to build classes, but it also comes with a nerf to all swordsman. You can't even just add the shields to the classes to even it back out because of how strong they would make the classes. So basically they're just a huge pain in the arse when it comes to rebalancing.

Spectral arrows are a huge no no. All the positive buff arrows I can't really ever see a use for them. Poison arrows, well, I prefer our current ones over just poison. Slowness and weakness arrows I would like to see added to some new classes. Mostly slowness, I think that would be really cool.

I'm not going to talk about Elytra (wings). And did you know that Elytra are the hard forewing/shell-like wing that beetles have?

Okay, lemme draft up the Eagle class idea really quick ;3
Eagle (Black Gate, maybe Dale if it's ever added)
Armour: orange dyed leather pants and boots, Elytra, Eagle-head-textured block? Eagle player head?
Weapon: stone sword
Special: Can pick up players; has a feather in inventory that when clicked gives levitation 2 for ten seconds, called "soar" or something, which allows Eagle to fly up and then glide down. Ten sec. cooldown.
Cost: 5000 pts. (Or more if it's too OP ;3)

Another issue would be the hitbox and size of the player would not be realistic.

1: I Though the wings were gonna suck but since they just glide im okay with them
2: No way, we need them to buff up dwarf guardian, And also they prevent 100% Arrow damage, 1+ for dwarves, -1 for elves!
3: There is a way to disable it, But I wouldn't like it for siege, [user avatar="https://cravatar.eu/helmavatar/sjoerdtim/74.png" name="sjoerdtim"]960266[/user] said he would most likely use it for trolls, and possibly other classes, He is not sure about the other classes, But actually swords have a 0.60 second hit cooldown, and already entities can only take damage every 0.50 seconds(So only another 0.10 second wait). Also, you can edit the attack speed for anything, so tim can change the iron scimitar(iron axe) to do as much damage as the iron sword, and same attack speed
