and sometimes it just gets you killed over... and over..... and over................\
let me tell you a story. anybody remember heeting? well he was an armored troll at gate 3 on tirith and i was a spear man. i ran up the little bridge over shot one spear at him hit him twice and he killed me. (dealt 9.5 hearts a hit so almost insta kill to a spear man) then i did it again, about 4 times then he finnaly died i and stopped him but i died 4 times doing it. so no.
An honorable feet! The key to killing a troll is to team it, or use your many lives to finish it!
But yes, even so, I charge people all the time for the heck of it. It makes no matter, to fight a stronger class you must use their slowness (such as trolls), or their bad defense (such as things like merc). Charging doesn't do much if the enemy has full health, unless you're a great Pvper.
Merc is very deadly if used correctly. Its more of a scout/harrassment class but on Erebor in the right hands it can kill loads of archers, and at times I have seen armies distracted by going after the mercs and totally forgetting about the rest of the orcs until it was too late.
As for charging in general, the best way to do so is to charge, hit and run, then retreat. No point dying due to low health, it takes time to respawn and get back to your original position anyway. A
massed charge is far more effective than a single person charging for obvious reasons, and if the enemy is not grouped they can be easily scattered. The best way to repel a charge is also to group together, fire arrows to weaken the enemy and switch to melee in close combat (even archers). But depends on situation of course.
