Hey guys its YianniC here and I just thought of an idea for a new server. I'm not going to give specific details but instead the basic idea of it.
Basically this is a server where their are two separate teams. Each team has a certain amount of time to build a fortress out of specific materials. Most likely stone brick, redstone and wood stuffs. They both should build their fortress the time runs out. Once the time is over the Skirmish mode will commence. Now PvP is on and each side can attack each other. This requires a high amount of strategy and teamwork. The thing about this is that, unlike LOTR Siege, the Skirmish goes on until the core of one of the fortresses is destroyed. I think this will be an awesome server though it will require allot of work. Most of the work will be coding in order for the system to work. I will explain it in detail now.
Peace Time:
This is the time when each team should be preparing for the Skirmish Mode to come. So that means each team should work on building their fortress and setting up defenses, traps, etc. During this period each team's sides are divided by an invisible border or wall which means no team can get to each other and PvP is off. Everyone is a builder during this time and all blocks must be the same to sand, because if not people could just build stupid non-sensible things. That means that no one can have a bridge-way up in the sky that defies the laws of gravity.
Skirmish Mode:
Now PvP is turned on, the invisible wall is removed, you are no longer allowed to build and now players can choose their classes. I'm thinking that players can change their class once they die or when players die they can not respond and have to spectate the Skirmish. That to me makes the game more intense and realistic. So now for say you chose the Archer class and decide to stay in the Garrison, and protect the fort from attack. But your friend decides to choose the Swordsmen class and join the Vanguard in their attack on the enemy.
I think this makes the game have a war-like atmosphere. You cant just mindlessly run up to the enemy and start PvPing, you'll get struck down by arrows in seconds. To me this server will need to require white-list in order for the player to have a fun experience. I know this will be a very hard server to make especially with coding. But hopefully if this were to succeed, it would bring a lot more players toward Empire War. When I first thought of this idea I doubted it, but somehow I knew that if we really tried hard on this one server, not on all of these other mini-game servers, this could equal to LOTR Siege. I hope you like this idea and comment what your thoughts about it! Does it all sound dumb and horrible? Does is sound good but needs some work? Please tell me what you think bellow.
