Jory and his men entered the Great Hall. It had a damp look about it, Jory thought, like a sad ruin. He strode across the stone floor and stood, a few feet from the table where the man he believed was Lord Karstark ate amongst his men. He stood there for a while, examining the man he was about to talk to. Then he smiled briefly. "May I introduce myself: Lord Jory Bolton of the Dreadfort. This is my brother Geralt." He nodded at the Lord. "I take it you are Lord Richard?"

The lord of house Clegane sips the ale. "Vanguard aye? Aye that will get my lads right to the killing." He smiled at this thought and continued. "I will take the position, and the land of course."

The lord of house Payne pierced the lord with cold eyes. "The previous lord was much more courteous. He was wise to not treat his vassals as such and I advise you do the same. Rebellions are nasty business, as you can see by the Arryns." The lord pondered for a moment. "Aye, my son shall take up the position of squiring the lord of house Reyne, provided he heals but my younger son would gladly squire you. He shall take the position of captain of the guard in my stead as he will be here and I will not."

"Gladly. I shall take them into my keeping." Said the young lannister. A foolish and pompous man as he loved the idea of being the Admiral of the fleet. His loyalties to the casterly rock would be strong.

"Crakehall does not want southern lands of the reach. Divided, our lands are weak. As for the wars to come, the position of side guard is not a noble one. Leading your heavy cavalry or heavy infantry would be far more noble and better suited for my personal skill." Said the lord who sipped away the the wine.

The envoy from house Reyne still waited peacefully.

"So it shall be." Said He to Lords Payne and Crakehall's desires. The young Payne boy would squire for Tybolt and the Crakehall shall receive the heavy cavalry during fights to come.

"Lords Brax, Lefford, Farman and a couple others I invited decided not to come because I added the words 'death' if they did not rouse themselves in a fortnight. I shall call the minor bannermen and these refusing lords best have a good, if any, excuse for disobeying their liege lord. Otherwise the debt shall be paid." Said Tybolt setting an example. He then feasted with the four lords, japed about the barbaric Northmen and about slavery in Volantis, laughs and smiles echoed through the feast hall and soon enough the deed was done.

The next day messengers arrived at each of House Kenning of Kayce, House Swyft, House Estren, House Lorch, House Lydden, House Marbrand and House Tarbeck announcing that Tybolt Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock has called the bannermen to the Rock. The notion of why they should come was ambiguous and vague. Some rumored to take war to the Riverlands, others to bring it south to the Reach and some winked at the thought that the Lion of House Lannister had awakened to restore order to the Westerlands. No threats were said nor time given. Only that th banners were required to bring their forces with them to the Rock. Who would come?

The Reyne knight would be shown to the same feast hall later that day to dine with Lord Tybolt. 10356423

Later that night Tybolt would smile slyly as he read the Targaryen and Tyrell letters. The Dragon, the Lion and the Rose. A wedding was to be prepared. He sent back a letter to House Tyrell announcing for Lord Jon Tyrell of the Mander to bring his daughter north to Casterly Rock for the wedding within thirty days. Hopefully the Black Dragon wouldn't mind a double ceremony. He also sent a ship south to Old Town to retrieve Tyland.

Keening, Swyft, Tarbeck, and Marbrand refused. They told the messengers that they were tired of war and did not think it was wise to bring war on their allies, the tyrells or the riverlands who were close allies with the north. Estren, Lorch, and Lydden march forth with token forces from their lands. In total, 1000 knights, 1300 infantry, and 200 cavalry come marching to war.

The Reyne knight entered peacefully and apologized for the lord Reyne's absence. He said that he was tasked with reporting whatever news of this council to the sick lord Reyne in his stead.
12253360

"There is no council, so what news I can gather is none. If Lord Reyne wishes to hear from me, tell him to send his forces. I expect over a thousand from Castamere. When he is strong enough to come to Casterly Rock he may indulge on my plans if needs suit him. But for now tell Leorne Reyne that Tybolt of House Lannister shall pay his debts." Said He.

With the loyalty of Houses Lydden, Lorch and Estren the last bannermen were called. Houses Prester, Serret and Westerling. These were indulged that their liege lord saw need for their lords and his banners and retainers at Casterly Rock.

Those Houses such as Swyft, Tarbeck, Marbrand and Keening of Kayce were announced that if their lordship and his banners wished for no war they shall be required to attend the marriages of Draegen 'the Black Dragon' Targaryen to Aemma Lannister and Tyland Lannister to the Rose of the Reach. Bringing small forces of Knights and bannermen to safe-guard Casterly Rock and the royal Targaryen's from any northerner assassin or foes. Surely they could not refuse this great offer to protect their soon to be King and Queen of Westeros.

Messages would be sent to all vassal houses sworn to Lannister of the marriages to take place. Those sent to Farman, Brax, Lefford and Jeyne would include that to reconcile relations to House Lannister and attend these marriages either a sum of 20,000 golden dragons (which isn't a lot for a Westerlands House) must be paid in tribute or a ward must be sent and kept at Casterly Rock until the debt is paid. Those who refused may well find that they opposed the Iron Throne.

((Due to the fact that wiley and I live in different time zones AND we have holidays here in Germany, he basically gets on an hour before I go to bed and is online while I am asleep. Is there any way to solve this, as it is very difficult to RP this way - perhaps granting someone else rule over House Karstark?))

((I've been thinking that RP should be more isolated in a close-easy-to-get-to-area. You can understand why I chose a Westerlands Household and oh look now Targaryen's, Tyrell's and Reyne's (3/6 RPers) are converging in the Westerlands. Playing as a southern house makes it easier and when being closer to an RPer makes for more RP and therefore more chances of better quality of RP and character development. Maybe focus more on southern reaches? Or you Northerns could stay up there and befriend winter I guess. 12700073 Made the smart choice moving from the Wall to the Reach as it's closer to the heart of RP. I suggest a Tully over a Karstark or maybe a Baratheon.

((Doesn't change the fact that it makes for a rather dry RP expirience to actively talk to someone in a completely different time zone... This has nothing to do with the north, but simply with the fact that we are two players who are rather unfit to RP with eachother.
Anyways, since Lord Karstark is not responding, I am playing with the thought of drawing my sword and slashing his throat open, then have my men secure the way for me to flee.))

((I was in the westerlands first cap XD. Anyways, Schnitzel, I would welcome you to switch houses if you would like to one closer to the action. Riverlands, vassal, etc.))

Farman and brax decline the offer of reconciliation and have begun a secret meeting with house Jeyne and Lefford to discuss a course of action after the second round of threats from the new Lannister lord. Swyft and Tarbeck join them in this meeting but the lords of Keening and Kayce go to the feast with guards of 100 household knights each. Marbrand is silent. Prester comes with 50 knights and 100 infantry and Serret with 100 knights, 30 archers, and 200 infantry. Westerling is silent like the Marbrands.

Sir Jaq begins his speaking in his low, old tone, "Lord, I have known the Lord Reyne for many, many years. He is not one for sending troops on the standing that the lord has called for them, no he prefers to know the plans and act accordingly. He is no fool like some of the other houses under the folds of your banner. Perhaps, send a raven to him and tell him the plans so that when I arrive and tell him what you wish, he will know how to act." The Knight said calmly to the lord. Ill relinquish control of house karstark and go to just pure dming, karstark is now open once again, ill just be monitoring rp and keeping it going where I can, sorry for the delays schnitzel.))

Lord Jon Tyrell would tell his daughter of the news after that he assembled a host of 200 Heavy Cavalry and 100 Knights and marched upon Casterly Rock.

House name: Toyne
Character name: Crysos Toyne
Character backstory: House Toyne didn't really suffer in the war, not by far at least. They have a great forest network under Crysos.

Now aged around 40 years old, Crysos was a ranger from his early years. He was taught in guerilla warfare, knowledge which he then passed onto his son and mayhaps a little bit onto his daughter. He is a man of few words, but his personal friends might be surprised.

He was alligned to the Baratheon house in the war, as they were their overlords, but he systematically became unalligned, at least in his mind.

Has ties with mercenaries, pirates and bands due to his ranger success and wilderness background
House memebers: Amily Toyne, his daughter, maiden of 15, and Tarbeck Toyne, his son, ranger of 18.
House Motto: Fly High, Fly Far

((I have discovered flaws residing in the counts

Now onto the larger issue. House Reyne's counts as displayed on the first page:
7,000 men at arms.
1,300 Knights.
750 heavy cavalry.
1,200 light cavalry.
2,400 pikes.
2,300 archers.

Totaling at - 14,950 soldiers. Fifty soldiers off 15,000.

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Reyne-Tarbeck_rebellion

This is House Reyne at it's peak during the Targaryen Dynasty when it had borrowed many loans from the malleable Tytos Lannister, years before Robert's Rebellion. Totaling 2,000 soldiers in their rebellion against House Lannister and 500 Knights included of House Tarbeck. Now yes I understand that this is years before, meaning not during the time of it's peaking when it had taken loans but with mines still working it should have lots more gold. True, enough to hire more and more mercenaries and soldiers. But not 15,000.

And before you tell me 'the war made great houses weak' yes I know. I'm not complaining about House Lannister counts, those are fair judging by the circumstances of 'war'. But how can House Reyne, whom has no major city, town or even village nearby holds 15,000 soldiers for war. Shouldn't that mean House Targaryen who has King's Landing, the largest city in Westeros with more than 500,000 people, be able to raise more than 12,000 soldiers give or take?

I'll understand if House Reyne can hire 6,000-8,000 mercenaries to add on their numbers making them 8,000-10,000 soldiers but not fifteen damn thousand for a House said to have 2,000 in the lore and books. ((I'll laugh the day when King's Landing will have 5 million people in it. But yeah, I somewhat agree, although it might have been done to balance things out. It didn't. They now have a working gold mine and 14k men. Lannisters have a working gold mine and 13k men. Not a big difference, see, so yeah. I'd say nerf both, but mayhaps that'd be over the top.))

Fair enough, I will begin on new troop counts, back to rp.))
rumors spread throughout house Lannister that a sickness has begun to spread among its cattle, and that they are dying by the drove. Farmers are seriously alarmed by this, and have begun asking their lords for a solution, in the mean time, food supplies have begun to deplete. 12253360
-----------------------------------------------
The people of the north have begun reporting sightings of white walkers, and even undead bears across the wall, men have been going missing recently, as well as babes straight out of their cribs, the people look to house Bolton for guidance and reassurance.
------------------
Mean while the Targaryen's have had a bounty put upon their head, to any man who can kill them 100 gold dragons, and hunters across Westeros have begun ambushing the last of the remaining Targaryen men, in hope of catching their lord with them. 7396155
---------------------------------------
The white walkers have arrived at the wall, not as many as had been predicted, but many none the less, a total of 7000 white walkers stand in tight columns, and walkers riding atop rangers undead horses trot around them, night is just beginning to fall. When it does, hell will be unleashed.
----------------------------------------------------
The dragon that was fabled in the south is said to have made its nest in the stormlands, and continues to terrorize neaby villages from its mountain. Its roar is like thunder coming down from the heights, its wings like a hurricane. It is said it burned a entire town to ash, and peasants flock to their ruler 4140781 for aid.

((This is from a post 8 hours ago. I copy and pasted it here so it's a full-post.)) 10356423

"The notion of your lord's sickness bothers me. I have four vassals who've indirectly declared independence against me by ignoring swearing oath to I or sending golden dragons or a ward as a hostage. Two others may join them and two haven't said a word to me. The Farman's of Fair Isle, Lefford's of the Golden Tooth, and Brax are all convening rumored meetings probably discussing how to bring civil war to the Westerlands because my brother before me was weak willed and let them trample over him. Tarbeck's and Swyft's are acting suspicious and so are those of Westerling and Marbrand. If the worst comes I face an open rebellion of six houses or more. Best is three." Said Tybolt.

((Mile, you made some mistakes. Their is House Kenning of Kayce (not House Kenning and House Kayce it's only one but quite large and controls a town) as well as House Jeyne, there isn't a House Jeyne. I don't know where that came from xD))

Houses's Kenning, Prester and Serret receive due welcomes and feasts of their own with Lord Lannister attending. Lord Kenning is named Master-of-arms at the Rock for defending it as he stays. Lord Prester and his son are given a reward in the form of squiring offers to Lord Clegane or Lord Crakehall. And Lord Serret for bringing a major amount of soldiers is presented with the command over military Heavy Infantry.

Now back to the Ser Jaq. "Return to Castamere and announce to the Lord Reyne that I wish his sickness leases and that in his stead I bid his son who is rumored to be a fine sword. Bring with yourself a nice host, not too large and simple like the Prester's for greeting the Prince of Dragonstone and Lord Jon Tyrell at Casterly Rock. His daughter may come if he bids so to attend the wedding ceremony. If he does this, Lord Reyne and his cub will receive lands and titles once the vassals who refrain from attending their liege lord and soon-to-be-King at Casterly Rock shall know the words 'Fire and Blood' and what true meanings lay within."

With that nasty business done....ravens fly to House Marbrand, Westerling, Tarbeck, Swyft with messages encouraging that they should be among those to welcome the Prince of Dragonstone, Draegen Targaryen, into Casterly Rock and the Westerlands and announce fealty to the new King and Queen of Westeros. Which would continue to refuse summons or attend?

To Tarbeck an additional word is put in to grieve over the previous Lady of Casterly Rock, whom was a Tarbeck and had died at the Vale in the fighting. Along with this a ceremonial gift of golden dragons was given. Hopefully the Tarbeck's and Lannster's could reconcile over their losses. ((NEW POST CORRESPONDS WITH GAMER'S))
As House Lannister had many allies, and enemies to come too, word is sent to the Lannisters of Lannisport to increase trade with Old Town by lowering tariffs for merchant vessels bringing grain, wheat, barley and salted meats up north. These would be bought and sent to Casterly Rock.

The cattle that are farmed outside the Rock in the fertile regions have come down with this plague and are kept in their pens, though some are separated from the sickly and put in singular pens away from their kin. None of the food from these cattle are eaten, they are left to rot and fertilize soil.

Cattle farmed within the Rock are kept there. Sheep and goats farmed up in the mountains of the Westerlands remain away from sickly cattle and are kept grazing within their pens at all times.

Lord's Clegane, Crakehall, Payne and Lannister of Lannisport are expected to bring their trains to court for the Royal Wedding of Draegen Targaryen to Aemma Lannister, the guards during this endevour are doubled and loyalty is kept tight with the purse.

((Houses of the Westerlands current positions: This is to help me remember House names.
Disobeying House Lannister - Brax, Lefford, Farman, Crakehall.
Supporting House Lannister - Clegane, Payne, Lannister of Lannisport - 1,000 Knights, 800 Heavy Infantry, 2,000 Infantry, 300 Archers.
Called Banners - Estren, Lorch, Lydden, Kenning of Kayce, Serret and Prester - 1,350 Knights, 1,600 Infantry, 200 Cavalry, 30 Archers.
Silent Banners - Westerling, Marbrand.
Disobeying Banners - Swyft, Tarbeck.
Uncalled Banners - Algood, Banefort, Broom.))

The Black Dragon and Warden of the South's retinues were expected at the Rock. The three roads leading into the Westerlands were options of route. The River road controlled by the disobedient House Lefford of the Golden Tooth which may well have been a dangerous passage. The Gold road watched by House Lydden of Deep Den, safest and most common route from King's Landing to the Westerlands. The Ocean road running from Highgarden to Lannisport with the strongholds of Tarbeck Hall, Cornfield, Crakehall and Old Oak along the way providing numerous safe havens and dangerous despots.

Which would the Targaryen and the Tyrell take? 7396155 12700073

((I feel like I am being biased in this affair so is it ok if I drop house reyne and pick up a different house? If this is ok, their troop count will be dropped to that of the other vassal houses. 5534629 (Even though I love them...)
Swyft, Tarbeck, Westerling, and Marbrand stay silent. Rumors spread that Baneford, broom, and Algood have joined with Brax, Lefford, and Farman. On another strange note, The lord of Faircastle has not relinquished control of the navy and kept them at port on his islands.
