Maybe Tim can let someone be the owner of The server, because then not everything is for nothing and Tim then doesn't has to pay anymore, I am not the one who wants to be that owner btw

people say that profit * 10 years = value of a company/organization (or at least that is what I have been told)
so sjoerdtim loses 150 a month so 150*12*10=18000
So if sjoerdtim gives me $18000 Il take his server XD.
I bet if you were the owner you would just make all your hypixel friends the staff.

Probably, but they would be good staff. Whilst we were still running active, we were the best at what we did for 6 months. Keeping 2 guilds of 120 people each up requires skill, and the 5-6 people who helped me do that were very good at what they did. They also helped me make us the best Mega Walls guild, with tons of Guild vs Guilds on youtube where we clearly demolished all the opposition. So all of my officers are now pretty well known on Hypixel and would make good staff contenders. And that is quite an achievement on a server with 20,000 people on average.
So yes, I probably would.

Apart from if I had 18.000€ I wanted to spend on the server, I would just keep running it myself instead of giving it away.
I appreciate all of you thinking about this, but the fact remains that 1. people wouldn't be able to pay for the server, 2. transferring everything would be a hell, 3. I wouldn't feel comfortable with most people running the servers I've built the past 5 years, apart for maybe lock and Only, but they don't have the time or money to spend on it.

What I mean is that EW would last at most 1-2 more months in its current state, regardless of whether donations are reached. Once september comes and population falls even further it will go regardless of what happens now.
Better let it go out with dignity now.
