Skirmish Forces Info

That doesn't mean that others that aren't such a nerd can't have some lore in M-E
Smurf, Uni, we are in charge of the lotr lore on this server because, honestly we are the ones who know it BEST.

Lotr lore = All the persons who say that they are kings etc?
No what I mean is, we're the only ones who care about the EW Lore, so we basically make it for ourselves.
I was just trying to make a point, that I don't approve of this craziness

Noob Question #2

This is just the limits of how many men can be deployed.Correct?

Is a kingdom out if all of their men listed were killed in previous skirmishes?

Some on actual battles, others I just based by comparing them to other places of the same terrain, population, etc.

I think you should lower the number of elves, they aren't many at the end of the Third Age. Same for dwarves. If you want I can take a closer look at your numbers and make them more lore-accurate (not saying that you've done a bad job)

I goofed on the feifs, because I now know that a tythe is a tenth, and in the Siege of Minas Tirith the feifs held back "all but a tythe of their strength" so I need to increase those. As for the rest, maybe lower the Elves, but according to the wiki there were 30,000 Dwarves in the Siege of Erebor/Battle of Dale. I actually lowered that number (the number for Erebor, not all Dwarves) and believe this to be pretty accurate, but be my guest, as long as you provide canon sources.

Don't trust everything you find on the internet ! There's no way they could know the numbers of soldiers in this batlle, as it isn't described in the books (even in unfinished tales) !

Let's begin with Gondor ! I base my estimation on quotes from The Return of the King :

GONDOR

- Lossarnach : 2000 "Forlong the Fat, the Lord of Lossarnach, with two hundred well-armed men bearing battle-axes" Book V, Chap 1 it's mentionned that these 200 soldiers only represented one tenth of Forlong army.
- Ringlo Vale : 300
- Morthond, "Blackroot Vale" : 500 archers
- Anfalas : "long line of men of many sorts, hunters and herdsmen and men of little villages, scantily equipped" I estimate that represent like 100 or 150 men
- Lamedon : "a few grim hillmen without a captain" someting like 50 guys
- Ethir Anduin : "Fisher-folk of the Ethir, some hundreds, or more" +- 100
- Dol Amroth : 700 men-at-arms and " a company of knights in full armour" maybe 400
- Minas Tirith : Regarding the size of the city, the decline period for Gondor, i think there was approxiamtely 2000 soldiers to guard the fortress
- Ithilien : "indeed all the survivors of the foray were now gathered on the slope nearby, two or three hundred strong" Book IV, Chap 5

At the Pelennor Field batlle, Aragorn brought 1000 soldiers from the Southern Fiefs.

"Four thousands I sent marching from Pelargir through Lossarnach two days ago" and 4000 more !
"Moreover many were bidden to follow me up the River in any craft they could gather" and maybe 1000 coming by the river

Without forgetting Cair Andros. It is a very strategical place, heavily guarded I think. I estimate Cair Andros Garnison at 500 men or more.
SO .... I would say Gondor, at the end of the Third Age was 15 000 mens (if you add all the soldiers I mentionned you'll find 13 000 but I think Tolkien didn't mention all Gondor forces in all places like Anorien, South Ithilien ...

I'll edit my post with other armies later, as it was already pretty hard to gather infos for Gondor :D

P.S : Tolfalas is a desert Island, nobody live there. Erech isn't a fortress, so no men come from here. Harondor is also a deserted land.

Yeah but the 11,000 are minas tirith guards, rohan horsemen, south gondorians and the soldiers who with Aragorn, that doesn't represent Gondor forces. And those 11,000 soldiers were 't all living in the city, even after the battle !
