Unless there was a ridiculous amount of fellbeasts in Mordor, there was nothing to stop the eagles.

but the problem with that is the nazgul could probably beat the eagles in a 1vs1.
so yea the problem with that is nazy eats eagles and Frodo and then they get ring.
sauron could have seen the eagles on the other side of the middle earth so meh you know he would have been prepared for eagles attacking and attempting to do that.

sauron had nazgul and could see anything he wished with his magical ball and the eagles didn't serve anyone they could do it willingly but that is unlikely
sauron could find the ring just by asking his ball (he didn't say "hey magic ball wheres da ring?") but the only reason he didn't was because Frodo is magic resistant. so sauron thought Who ever has the ring is blocking out my magic ball so Aragorn must have it since he is the only one who could hide it that would have it.

My gosh people! It's not nazgul! Nazgul are the black riders! The actual dragon things are called fellbeasts. German, yes only 9 nazgul, but who knows how many fellbeasts they have. And Andrew, an eagle could totally woop a fellbeast's ass in a 1v1.
