VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"I'd back off fifty feet." He shrugged like it was normal, the dunlending pulled his spear from his back and cut across his palm. Once she was at a safe distance, he began to transform... suddenly an explosion rocked the city and a great eagle stood in Cardilocs place. Two mighty wings were outstretched as he displayed his power.

"Welcome, friend!" One of the Rohirrim said upon seeing Dimitri. "What brings thee to the Court of Rohan?" He was among those nobles on the side that were unimportant, though he seemed to demand an address from Dimitri.

The woman was nearly unfazed. At first, she looked away from the blast, then she saw the eagle and nearly ran but remained standing there. She even moved closer and walked to it, reaching her hand up to its wings and feeling its fine feathers.

"Okay. I believe you. This is...unbelievable. Astounding, even. How? Did you summon a bird in your place or magic yourself into one?" She asked, astonished.

"I've ridden here non-stop for about three days to tell the King that there has been an attack on a series of villages south of the Fords by an unknown force. I counted about twelve dead in my home village and...." Dimitri begins. He then collapses to the ground and passes out from exhaustion and dehydration.

Cardiloc was unable to respond, he was an eagle after all. The dunlending motioned towards the hall so she could summon her adoptive father.

"Should I send riders at dawn, my lord?" One of the Royal Guards asked, running over to Dimitri's body.

"No, Erkenbrand. Send them now." Eomer commanded, standing up. The Royal Guard left. "Elfhelm! Groma! Help this man to one of the rooms in the back. See to it that he is cared for." Two other guards moved over to Dimitri and picked him up, carrying him to a guest room in the back.

Dimitri woke up after many hours of sleep in woolen sheets, in a nice bed with feathered pillows buffeting his head. A maiden sat on a chair nearby and had yet to notice him waking.

She ran over to the mansion and after fifteen minutes a tall drowsy man appeared, walking out onto the streets in somewhat casual wear. He had a full head of rough black hair and was clearly of Numenorean descent.

"Darling, what is-" He saw Cardiloc and was frozen in shock.

"Father, I want you to remain calm. It is a great eagle and it wishes to speak to you, just, remain calm and watch," she held her father's hand waiting for Cardiloc to do something.

12700073

Cardiloc casually climbed out of the nape, and faced the Numenorean man. "Oh hi, I'm Cardiloc. That probably must've freaked you out but please listen to what I'm about to tell you. I've been sent by Eonwe former Herald to warn your people. The Dark Lord Morgoth has returned, and he's more dangerous and cruel than Sauron could ever hope to be. You see he's Saurons master and the first Dark Lord, and his return means peril for all free peoples of Middle Earth. " He explained to the Lord.

Sigeric spoke up. "Your grace, the story that you are about to hear will sound absurd. However, I trust that you can keep an open mind." He paused. "I, Sigeric of Redhaven," he said, glancing at Erland, "along with my companions, have been absent from our homes for the last twenty years. We have ventured into the remote, and witnessed events that may lead to a cataclysm the scale of which Middle-Earth has seen only once before. In our exile, we were forced to slay beings of great power, the existence of which had been lost to all memory. The three of us, along with five others, were forced to take this power into ourselves, and were manipulated unwillingly into an insidious plot. Not long ago, the free peoples fought against the Dark Lord Sauron, in a conflict which spilled much Dalish blood, including your own father, and my own brother. We have come here to inform you that Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, and Sauron's master, has awoken." Sigeric let that sink in for a few moments. He then gave a brief account of the events which transpired on the island, and explained the nature of the Karoltai. "At present, you have no reason whatsoever to believe us. We can prove that we possess these powers, if you wish. It may cause quite a disturbance, however." Sigeric's voice held a tone of calm rationality. He looked towards Iver and Thoruk, to see whether they had anything to add.

Dimitri woke up to a very hungry stomach and a wanting for some ale. "Excuse me, ma'am, would you mind fetching me some food and a flagon of ale, please?" Dimitri asks.

"And what do you want me to do...eagle?" The Lord of Langstrand asked, hesitating about whether or not he should bow. The woman was clearly enjoying this. She had yet to tell Cardiloc her name and she had fulfilled her purpose, or had she? What did he want to do here? He had to find Ha'zi and Ela and fly them to Minas Tirith to meet with the others but what would he do now? He had just exposed himself to people and had exhausted one of his transformations. What would he do with Ela at Minas Tirith? Bring her along? Obviously not, that would be suicide to take her to Mordor.

The woman's head turned quickly at Dimitri's voice, "O-ohkay." She said, standing up and leaving. Twenty-two minutes later she returned with a tray. There was a rib some celery and broccoli, a corn cob and a glass of water, not ale. "The King said not to make you tipsy." She explained.

Bard II was silent. Erland erupted in fury, "What sort of bull-shit half-crapped nonsensical twat-cunt-faced shit-bull have you lot been smoking? I brought you to the King thinking you were applying for a damn civil occupation, Iver! Then I see your friends and I thought, oh they're here to get occupations as well! But noo! My son has taken up with the Redhaven lot and gone batshit crazy." He turned to Bard II, "I am sorry my grace. They are clearly sick in the head, forgive me for the wasted time. I will see to it that they shall all be serviced, rightly."

"No." The King spoke.

"Wha-"

"I said no."

"But they're cra-"

"Sit down, Erland." Bard II put down his tea and stood. "I have read the tales. Heard the prophecies. Had visions even of this. I am not blind. Show me one piece of evidence and I shall believe you, Sigeric Redhaven." Bard nodded at them.

Erland was barely containing his anger. His son was absolutely autistic. That half-witted daft half-brother of his had corrupted him and now he was waddling around with dwarves. He probably lied about everything. Stole the money he had given him and spent it on whores and his extracurricular fantasies. Damn it! And the King was buying into this bullshit.

"A smart man." Dimitri said with a mild grin. Though he was hungry beyond belief, he took his time eating, and when he was done, politely thanked the lady for the meal. "May I speak with the King?" he asked.

"He is in the hall." The maiden said, showing him the way back to Meduseld.

"Ah, our guest is awake. Now, I must ask. Why did you state you had arranged an audience with me?" Eomer asked. It was clear the gate-guard had been questioned about Dimitir's appearance.

8861015

Daugo regarded King Elessar's friendliness towards Celeborn and decided that they must be somehow related. For some reason, the king of Gondor did not inspire as much boldness in him as Éomer; whereas the first one's hall was cozy and welcoming, the Citadel of Minas Tirith was much grander, almost forbidding in its cold glory. So he remained kneeling, though looking around with his typical inquisitiveness.

"A piece of evidence is what you want my lord?" Thoruk says calmly, standing up and concentrating his powers into his hand. As the lightnings start to sparkle he addes "Don't you dare call your son or his friend one of these things again, I swear I will..." he stoppes as he looks at Erland. "Your son is a good man, he saved me several times, you should be proud to have a son like him." he says looking towards Iver. "The same goes for Sigeric, he is one of a kind and is one of the only people I'd trust in this town. He's someone you can rely on and not just the... i don't know what you think of him or your son, just cut it out." Thoruk says, calmly, yet a bit angry before turning towards the king again. "Is this enaugh evidence for you?" he asks.

"Well, frankly mi'lord, men are easy to trick when its the middle of the night and I needed to get a proper rest and meal. I wasn't lying when I said there was an attack to the south of the Fords, though. I was attacked by a party of Maia from the west, though we fought them off. They kidnapped my adoptive father and mother and caused great havoc in the Adorn River Valley. Manwe has put a price on my head for actions that I did not intend to commit, but does not realize that killing me will help doom Middle-Earth." Dimitri said. "Your guard said that some Elves passed through here. Was anyone with them? A halfling? Two men of Dale? Some Dwarves?"

Iver was destroyed. Both his father and sister saw him as a madman. His last chance of happy reuinion faded away as Sig's identity was revealed and now he made his father a fool infront of the king.
Why did he even bother? His power was gone and he couldnt join the group in their war against Morgoth and he couldnt stay in Dale either. Where could he go?

"Spread the word, the people need to be aware of his return. Eonwe gave instructions to marshal the combined forces of the free people's in Minas Tirith. I'll also need accommodation." He explained to the Lord. The dunlending thought for a moment, taking Ela to Minas Tirith would put her in danger but there wasn't anywhere safe anymore. He would keep her close for now.

"Grandfather," the Queen cried running to Celeborn and embracing him. Their hug was short and sweet and Celeborn looked at both the royal couple, "There are grave tidings I bear. May we speak in council?" Aragorn nodded and spoke to Daugo and the bowing elves.

"You may arise, friends."

Celeborn walked with the royal couple towards a gallery of sorts built on the citadel's foundations. Daugo saw some of the elves following them but some had diverged and began to look about the seventh level of Minas Tirith meanwhilst others acted as guards and further secured sectors of the Citadel.

Eomer was taken offguard by this. "Maia?" He asked, "And yes. There was a company of elves from Rivendell that passed through a week back. There was a halfling with them."

The others in Meduseld began to listen in on the conversation.

8861015

------

"Come, uhh," The Lord of Langstrand paused, "What is your name? I may service you in my household. I shall send word for the other provinces. Belfalas, Ringlo, Lebenin, Lossarnach, Ithilien. I will warn them, uhhh, sir." He offered to Cardiloc before turning to his daughter, "Take him to the empty rooms." He left and ran sprinting through the town in the middle of the night with all haste towards the belltower.

12700073

"Indeed it is. Erland, it appears your son isn't mad after all. You should apologize." Bard II said after seeing the lightning that Thoruk conducted.

Erland was red and angry but he managed to turn to the trio of shifters and say, "I am sorry for insulting you all." That was the best he could do at the moment.

"Now, what is it we must do to prevent the return of this monstrosity? I assume you have some sort of plan?" Bard II asked them.

"Card," He nodded to the Lordling. "Uh just let me find my sister and Ha'zi seems like they wandered off." He spoke to the woman, running off.

"I am sorry father" Iver said with tears in his eyes. "You wouldnt believe me if i have told you earlier, and i lost powers so i couldnt prove you anything either" He said, close to breaking in tears.
