VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Open the door and you'll find out," The voice said.

18199471

--------------

"Hah, you don't need that." Penduilas laughed. Yellena smiled a bit they continued their hunt. They entered the forest and after quite a while of wandering around, they eventually came upon a boar roaming over the forest floor.

------------

"To your stations!" The official yelled as Tamara slipped behind the corner and back into her alcove. If she wanted food she'd have to find the night market by the old scallion pantry on the first level. Or she'd have to break into the granaries but that was suicide with the number of guards on duty.

---------------

"-aaaghuuww-" Endo's voice cut as his head slammed into the chair, breaking it. Hering's aim was off and he was mad at this point. Absolutely mad. Berethor leapt up and tackled him over, both men sliding onto the ground as a flurry of punches brought Hering to heel.

------------

"None of your business," Furdin spat back at Rambo with animosity.

"Furdin of the Squadron Oh, Corporal First Class, and I'm his senior officer." Keratos said through his mask. His voice was deep as expected of a man of his size. The ranger was built like a tank with a destrier that looked as if it'd buckle at any moment under the sheer weight.

12700073

-----------

"You wouldn't hurt an unarmed old fellow like myself," Mineltar said in a whispy voice that reminded him of his adoptive father, "Dimitri, now where's your manners? Didn't your parents teach you some? Oh wait, that's right...your true parents died like the useless sacks of shit they were. Or is that what you tell yourself? Isn't the truth hidden somewhere deep down, Dimitri? You do realize your father gave you up, right? Why on earth would a father do that to their child? Unless...oh no...their child was not their own." Mineltar's smile grew to an unreasonable length.

8861015

"Thank you." Rambo said with relief. "Our orders are to get this man back to the capital for trial, we can't do that if he's got a open wound that susceptible to infection. Now, as I said, I need to treat it." He repeated himself.

"Ah, nothing's better than a bit of oldschool hunting" he'd answer before they spotted the boar. "Ya wonna go first?" he would whisper towards the others.

--------------

"Maybe a stop before I head up..." she'd think as she sits their, trying to get rid of the hair in her face, looking at the pouch with the gold coins. She would open it and slowly let it drop into her hands. "That's 1-2-3-5...., not enaugh yet." she'd say to herself. She would put the money away again and start heading towards the night market. "If the guards all go to their garrison I can even try and go into the granaries again, although last time was pretty close..." she'd think before starting her little trip to where she would find something to eat. Hopefully not full of guards like this area around here.

Dimitri stopped laughing. That hit home. It was true, why would his father do that? The war against angmar was stressful, and his mother died at a young age. So could it be true? Could his entire heritage be a lie? Because if it was, he had wasted his entire life, following something that was never truly his. His mind raced, he felt his world slowly collapse. Suddenly, Dimitri remembered something, a memory repressed by pain and denial.

Father led us deeper into the caves. The shouts of savage orcs and the bellows of great Uruks echoed behind us. Occasionally, we would hear a shrill scream as one of the clan was murdered. "With haste, brothers and sisters. They grow nearer. Dimitri, keep moving." father said. I nodded and kept moving. By Ulmo, I was tired, and cold, so cold. But I had to make my father proud, he was my idol, my hero. I knew what was happening, father always told me this day would come. But I wasn't prepared for what would happen later.

I remember us stopping in front of a large gate after an hour of running. They were close now, the bellows grew louder and louder. A few had chosen to stay behind and slow them down, didn't last long. I looked up at my father, he stayed brave throughout the entire time. The warhammer he carried with him was covered in black blood. He crouched down and stared me right in the eye, and said, "Dimitri, listen to me. Time is running short. Soon, those orcs will be here. We have to get out. One of us has to stay behind." And by that, he meant himself. "You have prepared for this for the past three years. You know what to do. Head south till you reach the home of our brethren." A man told Father they were near. He nodded and continued, "Do not forget about who you are. Who our people are. Who your family is. We are the Isenblood, the Sons of Tulkas and of Beor. We have fought in His names for hundreds of years, and will do so till the end. You are our legacy. You bear the love of your mother and me. Farewell, my son. May the strength of Tulkas be with you."

He was his father's son. This was undeniable. His strength and faith was inherited for his father. His love of Forochel came from his father. He would not doubt himself.
"No, he would never... you lie! Yo- you coward! He wouldn't do that!" Dimitri shouted back, acting like he was mildly convinced by him.

"ehhh....... ok" iver said and kneeled down like he knew his brother did while praying. He wasn't a religious person before the whole island arc, seeing all the terrible things that happened and seeing none of the prayers being answered. Even now he didn't see the valar as a power to that deserve any respect or prayers, however he did trust Orome just enough to follow his orders.
"Ho great Varda, please answer my prayer and help your lost brother Orome" he said with closed eyes, hoping that this is how praying really worked.

"Oh, am I lying? Whatever shall you do, Forochelrim?" Mineltar widened his arms, mocking Dimitri as he stood defenseless. "Your warrior code does not permit you to slay an unarmed man, no? Oh, if that is so, then why slay so many innocents in your pursuit of life? What did they do to you? That innocent Eorling stableboy? Did he deserve the death you bestowed upon him? You are a murderer, Dwarf. A filthy rancid piece of shit that stains Arda like all these fallen Children of Illuvatar."

-----------------

The men continued riding for a few moments until Keratos sighed. "Pull off," And the four riders slowed, coming to a halt. The one with Glorfindel shoved the elf off the horse in an almost violent manner. "There," He stated.

Shin began toying with his crossbow and Mateus merely watched the elf.

12700073

---------------------

The night market was quite quiet tonight. Tamara noticed the local vendors out selling skewered rat, barbecued fish, grilled chicken legs and soup. An array of vegetables were also being bartered. There were fewer guards out in the night market as well. But still, she'd have to be careful.

-------------------

"I got this," Yellana said. Then, much to Thoruk's surprise, her body began to change. Almost like a giant, skin grew around her and she became larger. Her body meta-morphed, her arms growing larger and more muscular, her face disappearing behind what seemed to be a bear-like body. It reminded him of the Hybrid Shifter back on the island. And Yellana's evolution brought about a lot of noise as the bear roared.

The boar panicked at the sound and began to run when it was hit by a blast of light and collapsed.

A few meters away, Penduilas curled her finger back as her hand glowed in bright orange waves.

"Yeah, you totally got it." Pen laughed at the bear.

13615485

---------------

"Oh, okay," The voice replied, the cheery tone diminishing. "I'll just leave the food at the door in case you want it for later."

18199471

-------------

Nothing happened.

The Trickster waited.

A few minutes passed in silence.

"She's not coming. Hmm. Pray to-"

There was a flash of blinding light and Iver heard a buzzing that drowned out the Trickster's words.

14628767

A flicker of anger came over the rangers face as they shoved Glorfindel off his horse, then Rambo dismounted from his horse, and knelt over Glorfindels body. He applied pressure to the wound to staunch the bleeding first.

"Of course she is not coming, the Valar fucking ab-" Iver said in anger as the flash blinded him and he covered his eyes. "Oh what the-" He muttered as the buzzing drowned his words.

She would slowly creep towards the... delicious smelling, gorgeous looking chicken. "Jackpot" she'd think, grabbing a gold coin and trying to find a window of time where almost no guards would be close by. "A little bait" she'd say to herself, throwing it up and catching it again. She would throw the coin next to the vendor so he has to bend down to pick it up, that would be her oppertunity to grab some chicken and run for her life. Or atleast she planned to do so.

--------------

Wondering what was going on Thoruk would see things unfold and the boar collapsed. "A bear to hunt down a boar? Interesting approach..." Thoruk would say sarcastically. "Nice job lad" he'd say, "next one's mine."

The vendor glanced down at the coin, peeked about and made a swift move over to it, bent down like he was tying his dirty boots and fished it up. As he did so, he left the barbecue open to attack.

---------------

"Easy as lice," Pen's hand ceased glowing and she glanced at the bear.

"Well, go ahead. Find us some more, Yellena!" The bear stampeded off and Pen looked at Thoruk, "Do you want to take it back or should I?"

13615485

---------------

Receding footsteps alerted Arandil that whoever it was had departed. After a few minutes, he only heard the breeze and the sounds of people working outside as well as a few birds chirping in the spring rush.

18199471

--------------

"Wheet," Shin whistled as he cleaned his crossbow and pulled back on the strings.

Rambo saw that the bolt was still firmly in place and none of these rangers had even attempted to remove it. Blood soaked his fingertips.

"Hurry it up. We best be moving." Furdin said.

12700073

--------------

The light slowly diminished and Iver's eyeballs recovered and adjusted. Before him, in the circle of flames stood one of the most magnificent things he'd ever seen. Her eyes were like two starry orbs, her face olive pale like the night sky, her hair filled with sprinkles that lit up revealing a galaxy. She was short yet still taller than the Trickster and her body was lithe yet voluptuous. She reminded Iver of Ilmare, however, instead of a loving face Iver was treated to a grimace.

"Who dareth to summon me?!" Her voice boomed.

"I did, bitch." The Trickster said laconically. "Long time, no see, sis'."

14628767

”Corporal, maintain pressure on the wound before I pull this out. There will be a lot of blood.” Rambo requested looking up at the figure.

Arandil opened the door to get his meal for the day. After lunch he would go out searching for Lasser, who he wanted to talk to.

Iver didn't think that calling her birch was a smart move but he didn't know her. However, for safety reasons only, he took two steps back, trying to keep a safe distance from the two.

"Now" she'd think, rushing out, grabbing some chicken and trying to back of as fast as she was there.

--------------

"I'll let you do it, still want to hunt one down aswell for me and my friends" he'd say, putting his axe away. "Aye, I don't want to be stuck behind and get one aswell with my powers. Besides that, I thought you don't trust us?" he'd say, raising an eyebrow, letting some electricity jump from finger to finger in his right hand, probably the best element to kill the animals.

Furdin glanced at Keratos. He nodded after some hesitation. The man dropped off the horse and landed then trudged over to Rambo and knelt. He was as big as him, probably larger. "Hrmm," Furdin placed his hands on the elf's wound, blood sloshing everywhere.

12700073

------------------

Arandil found a small basket containing an apple, one pear, and a strange fruit that he had never seen before. There was no one within sight. Who would have been so kind?

18199471

--------------

"Don't worry. She can't hurt us. She's contained within the rudimentary trap I've concocted." The Trickster told Iver.

"Now, big sis, before you get all frisky on us, why don't you tell us where Eru is?"

Varda began to laugh.

14628767

------------

She snatched the chicken and was already on her way out when the vendor yelled. "Hey! Thief! Guards!" He wagged his crabby fingers in her direction.

---------------

"I don't. But I do trust Yellana. And if she sees you running, you can bet your arse she'll be gnawing down on you." Penduilas smiled almost too nicely and tried to heft the boar. "Damn," She muttered as she failed to lift it.

"Raimen, get down here!! I need your strength!" She yelled up at the trees. In any normal setting this would be considered the actions of a mad person but much to Thoruk's surprise, the lad flew down, hit a branch, but continued and landed next to the boar in a not-so-elegant manner. He stumbled a bit, stood and asked.

"Need some help?"

13615485

She would hurry, looking at her precious food. "Jackpot" she'd say in joy, trying to get to the nearest sewer entrance.

--------------

"Aye, I won't run away, a Ironbeard stands to his word!" he'd say with pride before following Yellena, "Aye, wish ya luck getting it back lads." he'd wave with a hand as he extinguishes the lightning in his fingers.

“Keep pressure on it.” Rambo nodded. “This is going to be nasty, I’ll need fresh bandages at the ready.” Then, he carefully pulled out the bolt.
