Much triple posting ;/.

I prefer Lotr. I haven't read GoT and the story isn't complete so i don't feel like i should compare the two yet anyway.
But reading the first book - A Game Of Thrones, that was quite good and i will enjoy reading the rest i'm sure.
I will like it for different reasons and when the story is finished it might be equal to LOTR ^^.
If lotr was a series or had more books it would in my eyes be better. But I prefer GoT as it is simply less fairy-tale ish, and more realistic.
And no good vs evil BS, also to those who say White walkers vs living people, we don't really know if WW's are evil.
Yeah, the mystery is what makes it interesting!
Everything is gray :P Like Cersei, a complete biatch, but at the same time the only decent parent in the known world.
Best parents in my opinion would be: Eddard Stark and Catelyn Tully.

Maybe Doran Martell or even Mace Tyrell.

Dude no. GoT is way better than lotr & the hobbit, sorry!
sry. no it hasnt passed LOTR and will never, no matter what u say.

1. One book is high fantasy, the other is fantasy and political strategy/historical fiction.
2. One is suitable for all ages, the other is mature only.
3. One appeared in 1954, the other 42 years later.
3. One was inspired by life experience, mythology and history and defined the fantasy genre in literature, the other was heavily inspired by dozens of other fantasy and historical authors that came before it (Tolkien, James Oliver Rigney. Jr, Thomas B. Costain, Mika Waltari, Howard Pyle, Maurice Druon...).

Yeah, the mystery is what makes it interesting!

It's only a mystery because not all the books have not been released/written yet lmao.

And describing lotr vs got by saying lotr is more like a fairly tale, means you misinterpreted it and are just undermining it way too much.
Lotr itself doesn't contain much kin strife but in the silmarillion, twice elves slayed each other, men turned against each other. GoT just takes that to a whole other level where everyone kills each other. GoT has been good so far but because well developed characters are just being "killed off" it makes the story just lose flavor a bit.

1. Not an argument.
2. Which is why GoT is better.
3. Not an argument either.
4. You do realise that GoT is heavily based on the War of Roses? A real life event in England a few centuries ago?

You can now also learn to speak Valyrian, a language from GoT.

Also, tell me what parts of GoT are based on LOTR ;3?

Yeah plz don't fight, and cookie is right, the geographics are based on the UK and the lore on War Of The Roses, and we're not saying lotr is bad, I love it, I just prefer GoT.

i still think u cant compare them... kinda...
You can compare anything. For example, Steak and Motorcycles. I love both of them, steak is chewy and can be tasty however on some days I don't want it. Motorcycles are fun and auxilerating but can be dangerous if not used sensibly.

That ain't got nothing to do with comparing, it's just counting down attributes of two things. Comparing would be to take two things with SIMILAR attributes (which are good or bad) and to decide which attribute is better and which is worse than another.
