    The fact of the matter is that there are different roles to play and not everybody can lead. I am of the opinion that the man should indeed be the head of the household, but that does not make the woman's part any less vital or worthy of appreciation. The man is the bulwark, standing strong and working hard for his family. The woman is the support holding him up and a counsel to advise him in matters of uncertainty. When the man grows weary, the wife is there to urge him onward still. Meanwhile, a proper husband goes out of his way to ensure the safety and happiness of his wife and children. There are, of course, variations from time to time. For the wife to play a bigger role is no issue, but to actively seek to dominate the household is the wrong way to go about things. Of course, the husband should not seek to dominate either; he should both lead and take the counsel of his wife into account A marriage must be one of mutual cooperation and both roles must be filled; it can not be a matter of "bringing down the patriarch" nor "keeping down the woman". It is a mutual bond; the husband and wife have become one unit, so to speak. For both the sake of themselves and their relationship, they must work together and not squabble for any sort of perceived "dominance". There are two main roles, and both need filling.
