Are Jedi truly not allowed to have children?
In SWTOR, we are taught, through the Jedi code indirectly, that relationships and children are forbidden, yet I've found some 'evidence' which contradicts that. The events I will start describing take place around 4,000 BBY, whilst we as the players start in 3,641. 'Only' a 350-ish year difference.
A simple example would be Nomi Sunrider. She was strong in the Force, and so was her husband. They had a child, Vima, and neither they nor the Jedi seemed concerned about it. Andur, the husband, stated numerous times that he would teach Nomi in the Force as well, so relationships seemed no issue as well.
Both Masters Thon and Vodo-Siosk-Baas, two of the most known Jedi Masters of that time both had no issues with the child Vima, stating she would grow to become powerful in the Force. On Ossus, a planet solely inhabited by the Jedi to train and study, there was even a creche for Jedi children to play.
As for relationships, two of Vodo-Siosk-Baas' own Padawans were in a relationship, and he did not mind. You may argue he did not know about it, but.. Eh.. He walked in on em as they were about to do it, and simply asked if they could do something for him. So I'm counting that as him knowing.
A more recent argument would be the Jedi Knight and Kira Carssen. It was said by them that they could do it through specific ways, and those ways would be quite annoying, but they are there either way.
So I ask you, where does this 'no wife, no children' come from? I understand the Jedi are taught to not let their emotions take hold of them, and that this could easily compromise that, yet still, we see several examples that clearly state otherwise. What do you think of this all?
