I know that recently and in most of 2016, a lot of celebrities have died. My sympathies go out to their loved ones and families and they will be mourned and missed, but under these loud news flashes, there have also been lesser known deaths. I heard of one man specifically, whom I believe deserves some more attention.
Doctor Donald Henderson passed away on the 19th of August this year. The man was 'known' because he led the international war against Smallpox starting in 1967 and after only 10 years further in 1977, ended up being the first man to eradicate a disease from the plet. Smallpox alone killed 300-500 million in the 20th century. The world would be a different place without this man's heroic efforts. I hope that his friends, family and loved ones will find peace, comfort and happiness and that this man's legacy will live on for many years. May you rest in peace, Doctor Henderson and all the others we have lost in 2016.
