MC LOTR movie

I'd like to take part in acting - perhaps Haldir (if not maybe Prince Imrhail?) but I think I'd prefer to have a part in the script.

I'd also recommend this mod - http://lotrminecraftmod.wikispaces.com/home it has everything - walking ents, to gondorian knights and orcs; lambread and Mallorn trees etc etc. I'd also strongly recommend subtitles as MC chat would suck. Though, getting the mod would mean that everybody would have to download it and use a different server. But I'd think it'd be worth it.

Ya that's what I was saying with the text/subtitles.

This is the plan as of now:
We watch a part of the movie, we get the environment in-game and then play it just as we saw it. Roles will be handed out before, and we will have several cameras around.

We will film invisible with our HUD hidden, and preferably with chat bubbles mod (unless it gets hidden with the HUD) Not sure.
I'm quite sure ATM that we wont be using any sounds found outside of MC. We might get subtitles.

Edit: Nope, chat bubbles bug themselves when you're hiding the HUD. I guess subtitles is the main idea now.

Could I write some of the script? (if were not just basing it on the movie) :P

Are we basing it on the books or the movies? I think we should do both :3.
Also where are we filming it??
What about other scenes, such as Amon Hen, Bag End, Prancing Pony, Warg Ambush, Rivendell, Rath Dinen tombs (the place were Denethor dies) or even Tom Badibills house to the Old Forest? Well, we could use a bit of worldedit for a few small scenes, but what about other large scenes dat EW doesn't have? Well, I think EW has Amon Hen and the Corsair Ships with a bit of Osgiliath.

We'll do some filming on EW, and some filming might be on MCME. We'll figure it out soon enough. We might build some small thinks ourself.

Yes we should definitely use subtitles, that way when the person "says" their lines they can move their arms, shake their head, or pace back and forth to express what they're "saying." For example, an orc shrieking some command while walking in front of its troops, Legolas shooting enemies while counting, maybe a person simply holding crouch and looking down while they say something to suggest sadness, you get the idea.

We could easily recreate the Prancing Pony and the Warg Ambush is all in the hilly grass lands, it wouldn't be that hard to recreate. For the others we'd have to see if MCME doesn't have them and if they don't, we'll just make them ourselves. It'll take a lot of work but the finished project will be superb if all goes as planned.

You probably won't care, but I wrote some screenplays for scenes that were not in the movie, you know if you wanted that.

The lego lotr movie used the actual voice-overs, and it wasn't that bad. I think dubbing is the best option

I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

The movies will be our screenplays.

Yeah that'd make sense.

Wait, do you mean the animated one? Like the cutscenes from the Lego LOTR game? Yeah the only reason they didn't get in trouble for using the direct voice overs was because Lego probably got official permission from New Line Cinema or whoever they had to ask for it.

There are other versions, where I'm guessing they didn't have permissions, but we're not gonna be like that.

Oh forgot to mention, I voted custom texture for the poll but not completely. We should generally use the default texture but for some things we should use custom, for instance the urk weapons. They are unique and would add detail. I think we should make our own texture pack for the project as a whole. It would be default but we would only change certain things, like the urk weapon for example.

For my prefered character I wouldn't mind being lots of extras-
Like in the first few scenes one of the hobbits in the background, galadriel (she only has a small part), Lurtz etc.
