STOP GLOBALWARMING

You know, our world is doomed, anyway. Even if global warming doesn't occur, and even if Jesus weren't to come back (sorry if that's offensive, but I believe what I believe), then the sun would expand, like all stars. It would become a red giant. Mercury and Venus would be incinerated. Earth's surface would be charred. All the planets' orbits would go wonky because of the increase in gravity. Then it would go supernova, and radiation would come to live on the Earth. We would have to live underground, and even if we did, there'd be no sun.

You may as well ask us to stop solar expansion.

Really hope your not being serous boogercraft. On the brighter side this is a natural process, we just increased the rate of which it happen.

In all seriousness, I do think it's irrelevant. The earth may be heating up, but it'll go back down. Earth is millions of years old and I'm sure it's gone from cold to warm many times. Look at the ice age, did we have to do with it? No way in hell! We were freakin cave men back then. And why did the earth freeze over? Because the earth varies in temperatures and this was a moment of extremity. If the earth can freeze over like this with none of our intervening, it just as easily sway the opposite way and be hot as hell and we have nothing to do with it.

The other point is this is somply a blimp on the radar screen, Earth is millions years old and we looking at the span of less than 500 years. It's had many of these moments in the past.

If you REALLY think humans have to do with "global warming" we might be making a minuscule difference, but it's already naturally heating up and we are not making that much of a difference at all.

Mmk, I did it. I argued a point no one will accept! WOO WOO!! (party dance) Well I won't get into this anymore as most of you are already set in your opinions and I won't bother changing them. :D

Hents know what im talkin bout, dontcha man? XD

*clap clap* Here here to universal destruction!!!

Mhm, this reminds me a bit of facebook...

But seriously, this won't help. Sure, global warming is a problem, but for my country it will mean more rain, less snow and it will be a bit warmer. I don't mind.

There are basically two things that naturally affect heat:
1. Distance to the sun. We go closer to it sometimes, and further away from it sometimes.
2. Level of carbondioxide. An increase in the level of carbondioxide increases the heat. It's natural that it goes up and down a bit, but nowhere near as high as now.
If the temperature becomes too high, I doubt it will get better again, but will continue to get worse. Right now, we depend on that ice reflects most of the radiation that hits it. If it melts, the water will absorb it instead, which will make more ice melt.

The other point is this is somply a blimp on the radar screen, Earth is millions years old and we looking at the span of less than 500 years. It's had many of these moments in the past.

We have data to compare to that's hundreds of thousands years old. It's too much carbondioxide in the atmosphere at the moment. And earth is about five billion years old.

I hope everyone as ignorant as you do change their minds. It may or may not make a difference.

What one of my teachers once said was that if the planet starts warming it will cause the water to vaporize and it will rise to the atmosphere. The water vapor there will start blocking the sun and eventually it will get colder and ice age will start.

Might just strengthen the greenhouse effect, though.

Could be. Ice ages are pretty normal, we're living in an interglacial right now. A few thousand years and another ice age will come, maybe longer, or perhaps not with the same strength cause of the carbondioxide.

It won't, if there's enough water vapor in the atmosphere it will deflect most of the suns rays and thus making the planet cooler. At first it might boost the greenhouse effect, but eventually it will start to deflect suns rays.

CH3 is better at reflecting and refracting energy back to the surface then water. :)

For the scientists out there and the reason for mild climate variation - the milankovitch cycles

I'm sick of Climate change - nearly every module the lectures somehow connect part of the course to the climate - even the module of the geology of Britain!

or it will trap the heat inside the earth :P

Been and gone German - Birmingham (in England) is a prime example.
Pff, Kohtla-Järve and Kiviõli in Estonia are worse(I think). Here's one example:

This is a mountain made of ash, it's burning inside and it's full of different chemicals which are poisonous.
