VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Shit," says Daugo, addressing those below. "Well, good news are, we can do pretty much anything without them noticing. Bad news are, we could get washed away by one of these devilish waves."
After saying this, he takes a deep breath and exits, grabbing hold of the first crate or barrel available.

Daugo managed to grab a firm hold on the wet barrel ahead of him, it was nearly his height and he could crouch next to it for cover. Behind him Celeste followed, slipping slightly on the wet deck, before coming to a stop next to Daugo, "Where to know?" She asked, indicating for Daugo to lead. Sam was coming up behind them on the ladder while Daugo had to make his decision. 13527980

The storm raged on above them and the pools began to spread, touching some of the slaves including Dimitri, Grimnir, Sigeric, Iver, and Elodrin. The pools weren't a danger to them yet but they needed to hurry and start unlocking more slaves. Deslan had a choice of one more person to release with the pick before having to look for something else to break open and release the prisoners.

Deslan crawls toward *insert strongest guy, excluding Dimitri* and frees them, and motions him to help him break the barrels to make planks as both weapons and tools. And with the storm raging, nobody up on the deck would’ve heard them.

((gunda is the strongest along with dim so unless one of the other prisoners have 8 St points u better release the dwarf

Grimnir looks at Deslan, "Lad, only that friend of yours and me are able to break the locks with pure strength, but your lad misses an arm sadly. I think you know what the right thing to do here is."

"I don't know much about ships," says Daugo, "but I would think the safest place to find weapons and tools would be a kitchen--galley, they call them?--, right? Any of you have an idea of where we could find one?"
If no one knew about ship architectural arrangements, then he would lead them to the nearest obstacle on the way to the quarterdeck.

Celeste shrugged, Sam reached them, crawling on the wet deck and getting drenched like the rest of them, and pointed at the quarterdeck, "That probably leads to the Captain's Quarters." then followed Daugo to the next obstacle, a scorpion which lined the port side.

On the quarterdeck were two sailors attending the mast, three stuck in the sail rigging and another duo towards the stern of the ship, seemingly steering the craft. The trio would have to avoid being seen by those latter two as they had a full view of the quarterdeck from their angle, however, both were too busy trying not to drown them all and attempting to keep the ship from being nuked by the large waves the storm had conjured up. Beneath the quarterdeck seemed to be a gallery of sorts with doors protruding and flinging in the hail of rain. There didn't seem to be anyone inside. Would this lead to the Captain's Quarters? --------------------

The pick broke much to the dismay of Calvi who groaned, "That was mama's. Bless her. Now please, find something to get the rest of us out before we taste salt." He inclined his head to the growing pool inside the hull.
"Get us out please." Murmured some of the prisoners to Deslan, clearly bothering him further.

Grimnir looks at Iver, and decides to free everyone but him once he gets the chance, so he can start selling salt to the fish soon. Grimnir breaks a barrel and gets the most reinforced sturdy part, and starts hammering Thoruk's bindings first. 13615485

The plank came down upon Thoruk's cuffs and cracked one open then the next. The wood took some sturdy hits but remained mostly in tact with a few dents from the metal. Thoruk's arms were released yet his leg chains bound him. When Grimnir would batter them the first would shatter and the second but the some iron lodged into Thoruk's feet. The dwarf would need to pull it out lest he suffers an infection. The wound spilled some blood from it but nothing major was hit by the iron pieces. The rest of the prisoners looked eagerly to Grimnir to break their chains, minor wounds were nothing in the face of freedom.  1631151613615485

Grimnir, knowing the Thoruk is free, shall leave him to get the iron off his own foot, as he quickly goes to the next prisoner. But first, he grabs another plank from the shattered barrel, he goes to break Dimitri's chains. And after it'd be done, he would give the plank to Dimitri to use as temporarily walking stick.

Deslan's crawling around and giving out planks to people. He hangs nearby, in case more people get iron stuck in their meat.
After Dimitri was freed, he'd remind the ''ferret gnome'' that he was the one missing a leg.

Grimnir looks at Deslan crawling around, and laughs as he clearly got the wrong person, he walks to Deslan and looks down at him, "You're closer to the ground than me, ha!" He hands Deslan the plank.

Two of the six barrels had been used, the two empty ones, and there were a limited amount of planks to use, if they wanted to speed up the process before the hull began to flood, they'd need to break another barrel and the only options were: fish barrel or three rat barrels. Either choice was bad.

Iver, attempting to break his chains with nothing but pure will, fails spectacularly and somehow manages to cut his arms on the rusty irons in the process. Good going Iver. Good going. Somewhere in the universe, Illuvitar frowns. Now he'd need to keep the wound from being infected by not doing anything stupid.

((HOWEVER))

If Deslan handed him a plank he still would fail as he would need someone's help to smash the cuffs harder. The damage he could do wasn't enough and it was lessened by the fact that he was attempting to use a one-handed strike to break his cuff.

Deslan saw some others getting cut, including Iver. Would he attempt to help them cover up the wounds with their clothes in order to stop an infection spreading? Yes, Deslan understood that it would be nearly futile but at least they would feel safe.

There were still dozens chained, among them: Sigeric, Margoz, Iver ((idio-jk <3)), Elodrin, Dean, Marco, Eland, Elle and so many others.

"I-I'll check the hall. Would you two terribly mind giving the quarterdeck a go?"
Should they agree to this, Daugo would enter the room-that-is-possibly-the-captain's-quarters as silently and stealthily as a Hobbit can.
