VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Celeborn sighed and looked out against the ash mountains as the moonlight fell upon their dark peaks.

"Sigeric, may I call you that?" The elf began again, "Mandos' prophecies are open to various interpretations and are in constant change in accordance to the High King Finwe of the Noldor who spent time in his care. Mandos foresees the future. And the future is in constant change. A single drop of water hitting the wrong glade of grass, the bat of an eyelash a millisecond earlier than originally supposed, or even the creation of a certain prophecy all influence the future. Like a river which is constantly in motion, it meanders, changes and flows at different rates. The river of time has had the effect of resulting in multiple contradictions to Mandos' Second Prophecy."

He continued, "For example. Mandos originally claimed that Morgoth would destroy the sun and moon upon release. He has been released for nearly a month and the moon does not seem to have been destroyed," he looked up, "and I am certain that the sun isn't either. Mandos' also claimed that it would be Eonwe to slay Morgoth after his lover, Arien was killed by the Dark Lord. Then he later stated that it would actually be Turin Tarambar, brought back from the grave."

Glorfindel laughed softly.

"You see, Sigeric, the future is not engraved in stone. Manwe was supposed to be our King. Our savior. Yet he sends death to his citizens now. We must make the best of this situation. Perhaps Mandos' new prophecy might include an alliance of Elves, Men and Karoltai defeating the Dark Lord? We create the future, Sigeric. We can direct the river of time in our favor."

"Aye." Glorfindel said, standing up. "I'll meet you both tomorrow. Farewell," he left, walking towards the Citadel Barracks.

---

"I know," Miriel said laughing, "You're redder than a radish when I'm around you." she brushed his shoulder as they reached his room. "I suppose this is a good night," she said, turning around to see him off.

------------

"Not that I know of, sir," Miriel answered curtly, her red hair covering her left eye as the wind blew past them. Their horses continued forward, kicking up dust on the road. The trees grew darker above their heads and birds chirped as they entered further into the forest.

"No, I do not know how you control wind without transforming. But as a Giant I found it the same way. I would destroy my limbs attempting to control the wind. Control of water, earth and a couple other elements is easy, but wind. Wind is the most difficult. It's destructive capabilities go beyond fire." Irdis said, speaking into Thoruk's mind.

Sigeric accidentally started to overhear Thoruk and Irdis' mental conversation.

Pyrus re-appeared on the plains of Gorgoroth. Mairon was there with him and they both looked out to see the massive pylons that had been built.

"Pyrus, before we go, I must inform you of my plans." Mairon said, "Then we may proceed with rallying the Maiar and preparing them for a fight."

((The plans shall be revealed via PM and will later be seen through a flashback in order to avoid meta/spoilers.))

Miriel laughed. Whether she thought it was a joke or at the prospect of getting her head bashed in, no one could tell.

A couple of the elves began to recite the Mantras with Dimitri. It seemed there were other fans of Tulkas in the regiment.

Ha'zi had a hesitant laugh and put his hand to the back of his neck. "Yeah, I, uh, guess it was pretty obvious, heh. Suppose it is, good night Miriel." Don't let the Iver's bite 12253360

"Good night, Ha'zi." She turned around and walked away.

16315828

"Ok.." Ha'zi walked into his room, and slowly closed the door. He trotted up to his bed with his head hung low then fell forward into it with a thump. That had gone horribly. Ha'zi just wanted a nice day, and now it seems he just distanced the girl he liked from him. And she even knew he liked her! How could he be so stupid and flimsy?

He flipped himself over, and stared at the ceiling, thoughts flooding his head. It would be so awkward seeing her again, now that he just told her. How would he get through this? Distance himself from her? No, that would just make it worse. He'd seem like a facking asshole then.

"I should just go to sleep, I can't keep doing this to myself." He groaned. Ha'zi adjusted himself into a comfortable position, and tried not to think about the day as he slept. 12253360

"Seriously?" Ha'zi mumbled. He got up and approached the door, a bit cautious as to who would be there at this hour. Was it Miriel? Was she going to say something else? Guess he'll have to see.

He opens the door. "Hello?" 12253360

"Hey," She brushed her hair, "I sort of left you hanging there, sorry about that." She leaned in and planted a kiss on Ha'zi's cheek. "See you tomorrow, Warrior." She whispered in his ear and leaned back with a slight smile on her face, she tried not to laugh at Ha'zi's reaction and slowly walked away, leaving him dumbstruck in the doorway, her footsteps descending as she walked off.

16315828

"Wha.. wai... Mir.. um.." Ha'zi felt his cheek where Miriel kissed her. "See you tomorrow." He said, smiling, before walking back over to his bed and crumbled, a large smile on his face. Tomorrow would be a good day, he thought before being beckoned away by blissful sleep. 12253360

Sigeric nodded, though he was still not convinced. "Have Men ever been known to see visions of the future?"

[rule]

Sigeric sensed Ha'zi's frustration. "I only approached you because Dimitri had already interrupted. If this is a bad time..." He trailed off, noticing Thoruk's mental conversation. He assumed that the other voice was the previous Elemental Shifter. He did not know why his mind had caught onto his thoughts in particular. He already knew that Thoruk could control the elements outside of his Giant form, having demonstrated his powers in Dale. Sigeric tuned out the voices, and looked back to Ha'zi. "I was simply wondering what happened on your route to Minas Tirith. Your journey did not go as planned, did it?"

"You prepare our soldiers, Pyrus. I am being called elsewhere." Mairon told him, disappearing with a swoosh.

"No. It is not common for that to occur. Yet, certain Valar, like Lorien, Master of Dreams, sometimes alerts men to the possibilities of the future." Celeborn said, "Though, I doubt the Valar would help us after the issue at Imladris." He shook his head.

---

The young redhead opened the doors to her selected room and she walked in, shut it and locked it. She saw the flickering candle and sat down at the table before placing her fingers above it. It was tantalizing. Almost as much as the kiss. Why did she do that? Why did she have to torture him? A tear dripped from her eye and she wiped it away. If she kept tearing up they'd notice and question it. Damn it. Her fingers fell upon the fire and squeezed around it.

Darkness descended into the room and Miriel felt blood drip onto the oaken table. Why was she having feelings for him? Why? Why was she so...

"Pathetic."

She turned to the voice. His eyes illuminated the room. Two bright yellow orbs in the darkness like those of a lurking predator stalking his prey.

"I can sense your feelings, child. Why do you attach yourself to your targets?"

She coughed and swallowed, "I was merely fooling him, Master. To do that I must show genuine feelings. You know where my true heart lies."

"Indeed I do. How is your mission?" He spoke to her in the cold darkness of the room.

"I have done well to befriend the Warrior and Hybrid Shifters, Tomorrow we take to the road, as expected. I will be unable to communicate with you, as you know. I will continue down with the task you set me, and I will not fail, Master."

"Splendid. I expected nothing less from a pupil of mine, Miriel." It seemed he was about to leave. She had to ask first.

"Master," That paused him, his eyes looked down on her, "Please, promise me that you will keep her alive. Promise me that you won't let Morgoth use her."

"You are in no position to negotiate, Miriel. But I will have you know this. Complete your mission and I will keep your sister alive. Fail and she shall be released. And you know exactly what that means, child." He disappeared with a swoosh of air leaving Miriel to her thoughts in the shadows of the room.

12519458

"No, no, it's ok." Ha'zi plastered a fake smile on his face. He did like Sigeric, but he wanted to be in Miriel's company after what had transpired last night. Ha'zi wouldn't mind taking some time to explain it to the man, as long as it didn't take too long.

"Well, our journey didn't have that great of results as you guessed. Cardiloc's people are enslaved by the Enedwaith and they rejected our message, so no luck there. Then we found out some of his family had died, and then discovered his mother and his sister, that little girl Ela, was alive." He conveniantly left out the part about himself storming off away from Cardiloc in front of his mother and sister, because that was a detail he didn't need to be reminded of. Ha'zi still had to apologize to Card. Hopefully he'd have a chance to on the trip.

"Dimitri left us to visit his own family nearby while Card stayed with his for a while, until we heard some commotion in the direction he left. When we arrived there, that Maiar Captain guy from Bree that took Eonwe was threatening to kill Dim's parents. We tried to reason with him, but he vanished away, along with them."

"When we returned to Card's house, his mother was gone and they left Ela there. She joined our group and we've been taking care of her since."

"We had a pretty uneventful journey from then on out until we finally arrived here at Gondor. Our first stop was where we met Miriel." He stopped for a second and gave a brief glance in the direction of the girl, then continued again, "She was interested in us and decided to join along, showing us the way to the person we would relate the news to about Morgoth. Card explained the situation to the person, but they thought we were insane, so they tried to capture us and such.'

"To keep things short, we ran away and managed to get into the city here with few problems." Ha'zi let out a breath from all his talking. 'Anything else? How was your trip?" 12519458

Daugo vaguely wondered whether he would ever be with someone again as he observed the blossoming relationship between the Haradrim boy and that redhead woman. He didn't especially like her, for whatever reason, but, if Ha'zi was happy, good for him, he supposed.

Returning to the present, he looked around to see where old Celeborn was, or if any of his elven friends was nearby. His eyes fell on that Zaro. He seemed strange, even for an elf; even more uptight than the likes of Celeborn, if that was possible. He approached him on a gut feeling.

"Zaro, is it?" he said, appearing by his side in that burglar-like way of hobbits.

"Thank you, Lord Celeborn. I wish you good fortune in the journey ahead." Sigeric said, a conflicted expression visible on his face as he turned away and headed for the barracks.

[rule]

Sigeric shook his head. "Things didn't go well, to say the least. I arrived in Dale with relatively few troubles, besides an attack by sentient mushroom people that I still cannot for the life of me explain. I met Iver and Thoruk, and managed to gain an audience with the King." Sigeric's expression darkened. "Just as His Grace had promised his aid, an unknown shifter appeared in the room. He transformed, and destroyed much of the palace. We managed to stop him from further damaging the city, but he escaped." He sighed. "The King was killed, as was Iver's father."

It was interesting to meet someone in the retinue that didn't know his name. "I am Daugo Burgins of Buckland... a hobbit, as you can well see. I'm also, through no choice of my own, the Giant Shifter of the Behemoth, the deadliest of the Karoltai, so... beware my wrath," he said, staring intensely at the elf for five seconds before breaking and laughing. "I jest, I jest. You could probably end me in your sleep, from the looks of you."

Iver was fascinated from the city of osgiliath. Last time he visited the area the place was nothing than a bunch of ruins, another thing that slowly cut his ties with the past. "So much changed, i dont feel like its the same land i left 3 months ago" He whispered to himself before correcting it "20 years, 20 damm years" he said with a bitter tune.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iver saw that both Hazi and Sig were at the same place. He saw that Thoruk and Card were at the same place as well. 4 conversations he wanted to make can turn into 2.
He got closer to Sig and Hazi. "Hey Sig, Hazi We kinda need to-" Iver said in a friendly voice as he heard about how sig described the entire situation in the kings palace. "managed to gain an audience with the King", all that bitch do is beg for money and use his shower. "He transformed", Ya i wonder why "Dim wanna be".
"Oh dont worry, my father didnt die, in fact he lives well in your fcking house. Brother" Iver added with a salty voice.
He got closer to Sig and Hazi. "Hey Hazi, Sig and I kinda need to talk about something, family business"

Ha'zi raised an eyebrow at the mention of mushroom people, but he was saddened by the rest of his recap of his trip. "Dang, that's horrible." He remarked.

He could clearly tell from Sigeric's expression that he did not enjoy the trip, so Hazi decided to not push any talk about the shifter and the king. "You're from Dale, right?" Ha'zi asked, trying to switch up the topic a bit. "Did you get to see your family there?" 12519458
