VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Hazi? Isn't he on board with Dimitri and Thoruk and anyone else?" Daugo would remember that Elodrin wasn't here when everyone had left and why Cardiloc had a smashed knee.

Even though Iver had some knowledge about healing he decided to guard the camp, whatever brought him to this decision was beyond him, maybe an upper power. He sat on the sand for a moment before deciding that it wasn’t that comfortable, so he put his crossbow aside and started moving the sand around to form some sort of a stool or a chair. He had a long night ahead...

"Hector." The name lingered on her tongue for a few seconds. She turned to the slave who had led them there.
"Quartermaster Cane, do you know of a Hector on-board the Black Rock? Do you know of an Ironbeard? And you," she turned to Dimitri, "What was our last destination, Hector?" She stared him down. "I am a knight in service to his majesty King Brand of Dale. I may be relatively young, but I assure you that I've had my fair share of experience in battle. The reborn Kingdom of Dale is somewhat young, you see, and has expanded swiftly over the past decades. Naturally, such expansion required conquest. I fought in several campaigns against the Easterling tribes past the Redwater."
Sigeric was about to continue, but was interrupted by the arrival of Daugo. He listened without avidity as the Halfling inquired about the Haradrim boy whose apparent guardian he had helped bandage.
"If the boy is not here, he is most likely on board the ship. Perhaps he went to gather firewood with the others. He would have to be a fool to abandon the safety of our group."

Cardiloc wakes up, and grunts in pain grinding his teeth together in the process. The Dunlending realised his mouth was gagged, terrified he stares down at his leg.

Slowly the night sky was diminishing, replaced by a glowing light from the east. Across the plains of water that made up the sea an orange light rose, spreading flaming streaks of sunlight across the sky. It was dawn.

As Elodrin, Sigeric and Daugo spoke things were in full turn at the camp and ship. Onboard, Deslan's four Haradrim had set up and readied the scorpion, aiming it at the other slaver ship whilst Sigeric's archers like Yuri sat and waited in place for any commotion.

Down on the beach, Grimnir remained alone, at the edge of the forest. He watched and waited in silence as freed slaves helped themselves to nearby dead sticks and dried bush to use as kindling and fuel for the fire. Many of the women and injured had gathered around the fire, sharing stories and eating cooked fish. Radaa and Celeste served out food to any who would take it. The bellies of many of these men and women would rumble, lusting for food as the smell of salted beef wafted through the air. Cardiloc's own stomach surged for some meat.

"Food... Ow!" Cardiloc mumbled out loud before letting out a yelp, he checked his leg nervously as his eyes lowered on the kneecap. He was still experiencing blinding pain.

"No he didn't go to get firewood. Infact I don't believe I saw him during my speech." Walking over to the boat I would call up to one of the archers, once one of them came over Elodrin would ask "Did you see if the Haradrim kid, Ha'zi came aboard?"

Iver got hungry, he worked all the night making his sand castle. "I should eat something" He said and then grabbed his crossbow and walked toward the smell of food.

Now that he ate his food he thought about that guy that got his kneecap smashed and almost lost his meal. He then remembered that he needs to eat as well. Grabbing a chunk of meat he walked toward the poor guy offering him something to much.

Grimnir enjoys the food that was worthy of the Dwarf, and looked around the camp, asking himself what in the fuck is going on with the women all being "weakened" and why that guy's kneecap is smashed.

"I can't remember seeing that kid up here." Shouts down one of the marksmen to Elodrin before he was interrupted. There seemed to be some commotion above deck before the man returned, glancing down at them on the beach, "Yuri's spotted something by the mountain!"

-------------------------------

Before Kel could respond a slaver rushed into her tent behind Dimitri, Thoruk and the Quartermaster. The man heaved and coughed as he ran in. Kel stood up before he could speak his piece.
"WHY DID YOU BARGE IN HERE? I DID NOT SEND FOR YOU, FELIX!" She shouted angrily at the man.
"Captain-I-I'm sorry. There's just there's this-please come outside." He said out of breath.
"What?"
Another slaver ran in and interrupted, "Cap, there's something you shad see."
With a grumble she spoke, "Keep a close watch on these two." Pointing at Thoruk and Dimitri. "Let's keep our guests close by. Follow us."
Kel left the tent and the quartermaster and the other two slavers herded the man and dwarf outside after her. They left the tent to see the sky lightening with the first rays of the sun. Had it been so long inside? Thoruk noticed all the slavers outside to be standing or sitting yet all facing one direction, some with their mouths agape, others froze still like sculptures of ice.
"What's going on?" Kel asked, furious at being interrupted. The slaver called Felix pointed south of the beach to what looked like a mountain about 200 feet from them. She froze. Thoruk then understood why they were all petrified.

Next to an outcropping mountain stood a beast. Something human, inhuman, and superhuman at the same time. It bore the resemblance of a naked man, yet, lacked genitals and was incredibly muscular, almost supernatural in that sense. It stood upright, almost as tall as the mountain, its hands at its sides. Its head was like a human's, covered with something that looked like hair, brown and curly which slid down its toned, broad shoulders. This giant creature stared back at them, a dead-set slack-jaw look on its structured face. It was just staring at them. What was this thing?

------------------------------

From his little sand castle Iver could see what everyone else was looking at. In the distance, past the other slaver ship and its big camp, next to a mountain which touched the beachside was a gargantuan monstrosity. Something of his own nightmares. A manlike creature of enormous proportions. Even at this distance, it seemed massive in comparison to his sand castle. What the hell was he looking at?

------------------------

Ha'zi awoke in the clearing. His eyes hurt, his head hurt, his body hurt, everything hurt. What had happened? Where was his father? Who was that man? As he arose, he saw the body of the giant still in its place, sleeping like a cat. It seemed to be sleeping but some animals were now eating it, a few birds pecking at its ears. That man? Where was he? What happened? He felt a wrist close around him as he moved his own hand and looked to his left, there next to him, lay the body of the man, unmoving, eyes open, throat slit. He was dead? Why? The man's cold hand still gripped onto Ha'zi as if the man was clinging to the boy's life.

"Bard the Bowman, that thing is as tall as those dwarf statues at Erebor" He said to himself, now feeling that maybe he found the real king of the island, or that one found him........
((since they dont have jesus christ, i replaced his name with bard the bowman))

"Manwe's blood, what is that..." Dimitri whispered. He had grown up hearing tales of beasts from the Elder Days. Demons of fire and darkness, serpents capable of incinerating entire cities, wolves the size of houses. But what was this? Was it one of the Dark Lord's lost creations? Or something entirely new? But speculation would achieve nothing: only action would. "Captain, perhaps we should stop staring at it and do something?" he asked, planting his hammer into the ground.

"What in Durins name is this giant thing... It's not a giant from up north, thats for sure..." Thoruk whispers, slightly freezed. "I agree with my mate's oppinion captain" he slowly whispers towards Dimitri and the slaver-captain "but what..." he adds while grabbing hold of his axe

Sigeric looked south towards the mountain, catching sight of the enormous humanoid creature. "By the Valar..." he gasped, almost unable to move. He had grown up with tales of giants and other creatures of legend, but nothing could have prepared him for this. He quickly regained his initiative, furious at his own lack of poise. "Archers, in position!" he shouted, climbing up the rigging and readying his longbow.
"Do not release your arrows until my command! Nock!"
He estimated that the giant was about 400 feet away. Well within range of a good longbow, though the crossbows would likely not reach it.
